are they afraid that people might like the lyrics better than the same old sick and sad thoughts that lead down the path to nowhere?

I disagree with Felicity- I listen to the WOW cd's all the time and they have music that is better than the noise I hear from other kinds of music. and they do have christian rap music. I noticed no one slammed gospel. I think all of you are close minded and bigoted. I dare any of you to really listen to christian music just for the feeling of hope and love and not to be degraded and mentally ambused with thoughts that are at the very least desturbing. All this slamming of people who have faith is something that I wish would stop and other would be open enough to try and see other people's point of view. The songs people mentioned are good songs and I am glad you pointed them out to me. I do think the south is more open to spiritual lyrics because they have such a big population that believes. You don't have to be a believer to enjoy it.

I know that one of the rock stations where I live (big market) played Mercy Me and Third Day.

Probably one of the reasons is that Praise and Worship (Contemporary and Rock) is just that Praise and Worship for Jesus. It's not about being self-absorbed, selfish and self-centered. That's just the way the secular world is.

That's not a judgment...it's the truth.

***KJV - Mercy Me sing's "I can only Imagine." However, Third Day is awesome and if you have a chance to see them in concert...I recommend them 100% (Mercy Me, too).

It's like going to a rockin' Church service!!!

Same reason they don't play rap on a christian music station, or Celtic music on a rock station. Radio stations usually only play their own genre of music. There are christian music stations just like there are stations for every other popular genre so unless you live in the boonies, you should be happy.

Some Christian songs are on mainstream radio. A good example is "Jesus take the wheel" by Carrie Underwood. And "Three Wooden Crosses" by Randy Travis. Oh, and "Long Black Train" by Josh Turner.

Hmmm, maybe it's a country thing.

When I am listening to John Tesh or Deliah on my secular stations. I hear a few songs from Christians one of them is Third Day I only can imagine. Each channel also has thier favorite type of music to play. Perhaps if you look up mbn.org or klove.com or something or look up Christian radio stations in your area you can find one.

Sometimes it is. I've heard Michael W. Smith several times on mainstream. I never knew I could enjoy contemporary Christian music so much. It's the only thing on my station now. You can truly relate it to your own life.
Be careful though, being offensive to people who listen to other music is certainly not going to turn them toward Christian music.

i does not recommendations a separate metallic area. I mean, i extremely don't have time maximum days to scroll by pages of R&P inquiries to come across some metallic questions, so in many cases I purely examine my contact's answer's (like inspite of they have responded) and do an develop seek for for "metallic". So, something that my contacts have not considered and doesn't arise in my seek for doesn't get regarded at by me. as an example, if someone asks "who's your prominent Melodeath band?", except one among my contacts solutions, i'm not likely to make sure it. I mean, Y/A likely received't make a metallic area contained in the close to destiny, so that is compared to i am going to ***** about not having one, besides the undeniable fact that it would want to be valuable to truly have a extra sophisticated area like "metallic and Punk" or something. MQ2 - Nope. I quite somewhat keep on with metallic.

Maybe it depends on what genre of christian music. I listen to more hip-hop/r&b/soul stations and they always sprinkle in some gospel music and on sundays they devote hours to christian music.

To be honest, Christian music really isn't that good. I didn't like it even when I was a Christian. Oh and dude above me is right. They do play it on mainstream stations. Especially that Kirk Franklin dude. He is really annoying.

Because not everyone in the universe is Christian. Believe it or not, the rest of us sometimes get tired of listening to you.

Because it sounds bad for one. You may call it Christian, that doesn't make it Christian. To me it sounds like badly done rock music.

Christian music is that which brings your spirit into the energies of God. Christian Rock does not do that.
