You should really be taking DHA and a Complete B vitamin. DHA is an essential Fatty acid that makes up 2/3 of your brain. You can get it at any grocery, drug, or health food store. It's not expensive. Take twice the amount that it says on the bottle.

Do you see a Neurologist? If so, arent they giving you a preventive med or something to help with the full migraine. I suffer from migraines and I take Zonegran daily and Relpax as needed and Fioricet as needed. Over the counter stuff only helps with headaches not migraines

If you haven't tried it already, Excedrin migraine may work. It' has the same painkiller as Tylenol (extra strength) but it also has aspirin and caffeine.
I try EM if I know I'm getting a migraine but it hasn't hit hard yet. Otherwise, if I have a full blown migraine I use a prescription.
By the way, try looking up migraines on the net. There may be some vitamins and/or minerals (eg. Magnesium?) that would help prevent migraine.

The newest way to stop migraines has a 94% success rate after several sessions. This is mental training, not a pill. You learn more about yourself using mind training equipment. Under my guidance, you heal your migraines yourself. At first your migraine headaches are reduced and then the migraines just stop.

Try noting what you eat--it could be food allergies. Write down everything you eat for a couple of weeks. Try to cut out chocolate, citrus, red wine, hard cheeses--things that most often cause headaches. Note the frequency of the headaches too--it could be your monthly visitor.
Unfortunately, for some of us, that's the best you can do--but I must say, my doc got me on a cheap med that's done away with them for the most part (although I still can't eat chocolate!).

Isn't it about time to find out and treat the cause rather than continue treating the symptoms? This will only intensify or progress as the aging process continues. It should have been taken care of when you were 15, rather than going through all the discomfort for all these years.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information
