Well your personal physician and your brother physician have two differing opinions (typical with doctors). Apparently your personal physician has your medical history, does your brother. If you want to listen to your brother then I suggest you drop your personal physician and let your brother treat you then he will feel better about what goes on. And your personal doc still has time to change his mind unless he is meaning all the upcoming holidays including Christmas and New Year not just thanksgiving. Then again, if the pain becomes to great you could always go to the ER then your personal doc won't have much of a choice but to do something about it.

You have to see how it balances out. Do you want to be in pain over the holidays? Can you still have fun or are you crabby because you are in pain? I was in a similar situation last Christmas. I went ahead and had the surgery and I was glad. I would of rather been a little off for the holidays, instead of the horrible pain. You can plan everything out to make it work. If it was me I would listen to your brother because he knows you the best and he really has what is best for you in his heart. I am sure the other doctor does too.....but they aren't the ones who see you day in and day out living with the pain. Your family does. My family totally supported me having my op. before Christmas, just for the fact that they wanted me well again. Well whatever you do I hope you get better really soon. Best of luck.

your always entitled to get a second opinion and if your in alot of pain, then maybe you shouldn't wait.
