She wants to read the funny papers.
To her the paper is another pet sitting on your lap and she's having none of it. She's wants and knows she is the only pet you want on your lap and she's just reminding you of that fact.

I have a theory about this based on years of having had cats.
I think this combines two features of cats - they like attention and they know which article you are reading so they jump on the paper and invariably seem to walk or sit on only the article you are trying to read.
But I love my cats so I don't mind. Not much anyway.

Cats can't resist newspapers or papers of any kind. I used to make the mistake of moving my papers off my lap when my cat jumped on... now I know he wants me and the papers.

Polly simply wants to have your complete attention, especially if you were at work all day and now are going to read the paper!

She is probably interested in the sound of the paper. Go get her a catnip toy and give it to her right before you read the paper. I always give my cats catnip if they're interfering with something I want to do. It occupies them for a while.

Know what you mean. i often sit on the floor to read the paper and if the cats about she dives all over it. its not you she wants its the paper lol. I would also love to know what attracts them to the newspaper

They instructed me that i does not have the potential to puppy it, because of the fact it does not even enable them to puppy it. i began chatting with it, then had it laying on its component purring whilst i became petting and massaging round her abdomen. between the ladies suggested to the different "Disgusting isn't it!", and that i suggested "What?, Whats incorrect"? She suggested "She won't enable us to touch her, yet she is letting you puppy her all you choose". wish this enables.

my boyfriends dog always sits on top of the paper just as i get to the interesting stories!
