yes it hurts... i hope you parental consent if you are that young... i would suggest thinking very hard about this because this is a PERMANT thing... it should be something that means something to you... not someones name or anything like that... im 26 and dont have one yet... tho my boyfriend has 4... we cant decide what i should get... make sure you can handle it for the rest of your life... and if female dont get anything where it wouldnt look right later... also where ever you get it will change the way it looks when you gain or lose weight or muscle... so if you must get one get it where the lest amount of change happens in your body... tho you are only 14 so you may not know where that will be yet... hope this helped...

I got mine when I was 23 years old, even though I've wanted one since I was 12! My mother told me that if I ever got one I'd be cut off, money-wise, so I waited a long time. When I got mine, I was able to think seriously about what was going to be on my body for the rest of my life. If I had gotten a tattoo when I was 14, you can bet I'd regret it now. Why? Because it's amazing how much you change as you get older. If you really want to get one, know that it's a big responsibility to take care of it the first few weeks, and it will be there perminately. Think of something that means a lot to you, not a band or a person or something like that. Maybe your favorite flower, I got a cletic knot because that's part of my heritage. Make sure it's small enough and light enough that you can easily have it covered if in 10 years you decide you want something different. Yes, it really hurts to a lot of people, especially the lower back. Just do a google search for tattoo and you'll come up with tons of pictures. Good luck and please, really think about this.

don't get a tatoo if you are 14 years old. You are way to young to decide what you want on your body for the rest of your life. Do you remember what you were into when you were 10? Chances are you think those things are pretty stupid now. Your taste will change a lot between the time you are 18, 25, 30 etc - at least wait until you are 18 to make that decission.

You should wait a few more years before you get a tattoo; that way you can be sure if you want one and you can be sure of the design. You are young, you have time to wait.
You will have plenty of time to find something you want to get done and you are willing to live with for years. You can search sites like www.bmezine.com and you can use those pictures for IDEAS but NEVER EVER steal custom artwork that you didn't create. Its not fair to take tattoos that are not yours.
Keep in mind that all tattoos hurt but depending on location, the artist and your tolerance for pain it might be easy to handle or overly painful

I think you need to realize that tatoos are permanant, and what you get now you make hate in three years. If you seriously want to get a tattoo then make it meaningful, and preferably something you won't regret. My advice is pick something and keep in mind for at least 3 months. If you still like it then go for it, maybe when you are 18 actually. But don't be stupid and get something meaningless. And yes it is going to hurt, they are dying your skin with a needle.

If the shop is decent, they won't even consider tattooing a 14 year old...
even if you do have parental consent.
Be smart and wait until you are 18.
And if you are not 100% POSITIVE that you absolutely want one...
just don't do it.

I look at it this way:
When you are old and have kids or maybe grandkids,
would you still think it's cool?
Sure, it's cool now.
But i doubt you would feel the same later.
Try a henna tattoo first.
They stay for a while, but eventually wear off.
It would be similar to the experience of a real one,
but give you your answer to
"I'm not sure."
If you like it,
get it done permanently.
If not,
it'll wear off,
no biggie.
Good luck!

dont you have to be 18?
anyway, dont get one till you can decide what you want, its permanent.
You'll always have the oppurtunity to get one-I mean, all you need is some money and a tatto artist-they are everywhere. Think of things that are meaningful to you, maybe incorporate them into a symbol or something.

If you're not sure what to get, wait. Think about it, research it, live with the idea for a while. This will save you from getting a stupid tattoo, and it will have meaning to you.

I got my first tattoo at 17 and I love it. People think that just because you are young you will regret it which isnt always the case. Dont rush into anything you dont want to get one just to get one. get something that means something to you and dont just choose anything because that leads to regret. I have a pink diamond on my lower back and it means more then just a diamond. so be careful and dont rush it!
