It has eaten or drank toxic food of garbages. Liver cant handle that.

Another thing that can bring on liver problems (if your dog is older) is what he ate most of his life. There are certain foods that can cause long term damage on the liver if fed frequently throughout a dog's life. Your vet can provide you with a list of those foods(they're people food). There are also some good online resources such as the ASPCA Poison Control Center.

Some medications can also. i.e. Rimadyl. If your dog has been on any meds your vet should have warned you of the risks.

There are many possible causes of liver disease in dogs. It can be brought on by trauma, viral and bacterial infections, a change in blood flow to the liver as a result of heart disease, or it could be an abnormality the dog was born with.

a poison it my have gotten into, or you've been giveing it to muxh alcohol, or you have been feeding your dog scraps of human food. You are useing bad dogfood taht does not contain any nutrients for your dogs liver to empty the bad toxins in it. My advice would as a vet.

You do not say where you are, but all around London, UK., in the rivers streams and canals, there is a very dangerous disease caused by rats pee, called Weil's Disease (Leptospirosis). This attacks the liver of both animals and humans. Look it up under Weil's Disease.................

many dog liver problems come from drinking antifreeze... they love the sweet taste and many people just flush it on the ground or leave it in a drain pan..

Some toxic foods like chocolate or anything sweetened with Xylitol, it's that sugarfree sweetner that is in alot of today's candies, mints, gum and so on.
