I lost the adapter for my piano, should I just get sell the piano? It takes 6dd bateries if I don't have the plug. I paid 100.00 so it's not one of those serious pianos. However if I could get the adapter I would keep it instead of selling it at my garage sale. It's a yamaha PSR-280.

Next to the power jack on the keyboard it should say the voltage and amperage it wants. The easiest solution is to pick up a universal adaptor from any electronics store and set it to the correct value. If you're unsure, just take the keyboard into Radioshack and ask them what kind of adaptor it needs.

Or, you can order a replacement directly from Yamaha. Here's the link:

Look for the section "Need to order a part or a manual for your Yamaha product?"

Go to Radioshack-

First look on the back of the piano and see what voltage you need. They sell mulitple adaptors that you can use for this. My parents lose adaptors all the time so I got them one of these and it works great.

I bought one a good will , and it didn't have the adapter, so I packed it in radio shack and they fitted it with a new one, but it cost about $20 - $30 . I cant remember which price I paid.
