He seems so wrathful, and the NT presents the loving forgiver who gives us our salvation that we know (or like to think) is God.

Let's face it. The world needed a lot of fixin' to do then... as it does now even. And it merely shows us glimpses of God's Wrath --which we ought to rightfully fear.

We do know that God is forgiving PROVIDED we abide and follow The Law... His Law. And sure, God put Satan here on Earth and in our midst if only to test our moxie and overcome whatever trials, tribulations, and/or sufferings that may happen our way.

Let's not be spineless wimps about our individual spiritualities... We each need to work hard for God's attention rather than just sit on our pompous asses and wait around for another dole out!

There's NO FREE LUNCH in this thing we call Life...

Peace be with you.

You should have read the Revelation (last book in the New Testament) before you started accusing God of being only loving and forgiving in the NT.

This is what the Gnostics thought... that the God of the OT was different than the God of the NT, one being evil and vengeful and the other being merciful and forgiving. In some senses this is "almost" right, where as Satan means "accuser" and, when we re at fault, God accuses. However I personally see God in the OT teaching what is justice is, what we deserve for the things we do, and then, when Jesus comes and pays the price WE should be paying, God shows us mercy when we accept His sacrifice.

NO! That was a heresy that the Catholic Church dealt with years ago, called Catharism. The God of the New and Old Testament are one and the same. The God in the Old Testament is mostly the Father speaking. It may sound harsh sometimes, but that was a different time. The people then were very violent.

In the OT God was dealing with the Nation of Israel. Their salvation was based on a if you do what I tell you to do God will bless them but if then God would curse them. The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins He was buried and took our sins away and He rose again for our justification. He did it all for us and all we have to do is believe and trust in that. Ephesians 2: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Satan is the god of this world and he is the one that has blinded the eyes of people today. 2 Corinthians 4: 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 2 Corinthians 4: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

No. devil deceived Eve in Genesis. devil informed her to eat the apple. God informed her now to not. i could take a seat right here all day and use the scriptures to respond to your question. All day it will be a similar answer: God isn't devil. imagine about it this way. God can kill who he needs. He may also carry the back. In Revelation it states there'll be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous. If I died day after today i does not care because God can carry me back. He eradicated those who stood contained in the way of his purpose at the moment. quicker or later they might come back. in the journey that your backyard had weeds in it, does not you pull them out to keep your flora? playstation - You used a scripture from Revelation on your earlier article. the position'd it bypass? Why factor contradictions once you contradict your self? Oh, you've "fastened" it now havn't you...

God in the OT was judging man his wrath was poured out on them. Jesus reconciled man and God together and now since Christ died judgement has passed over man for the time being. The only difference is were not being judged right now.God is love. He is not satan.

I completely understand, but I think the way it was, God abolishing people who were wicked was not working, and so it came down to Him giving people a choice. He decided to show us just how much He loves us by sending us His only Son to suffer and die for us, and then leave the decision up to us. God is still an angry God, and yes, I believe He may sometimes punish us....but that does not mean He does not love us...do we hate our own children just because they anger us, and we punish them? Certainly not, and it is the same with God and us.

God has always preferred mercy over judgment.

Every-time (and I do mean every...time) before judgment, He waited for people to repent and they didn't.

In the NT - Jesus took the wrath of God away. He laid down His life...so you and I could be forgiven.

No he is not Satan lol. People seem to forget the other qualities of OT God. Like Him sending His one and only Son to die for people's sins, knowing full well many would reject Him. He did this out of sheer love for us and wanting to be able to be with us.
