12 years old is fairly old for a dog. She may have arthritis or something else of a similar nature. Dogs (all mammals really) can generally suffer from the same ailments as humans, especially as they age. I'm thinking arthritis myself, but the vet would know better (as he would have both the knowledge and the fact that he would actually see the dog and see the symptoms himself).

Get her examined by a vet. She could have a number of different things going on internally which you would not be able to see or feel just looking at her.

Could be a fractured bone. Or bruise, something that is not visible. Take her to the vet for a professional opinion and probably an xray.

Sounds to me like she's in pain somewhere. She really needs to be seen by a vet asap. Even if it's something that you can't see, the vet will know to check. It could be something internal.

About your dog: I'm glad you are taking her to the vet soon. I agree with the other answers about that considering her age and the other things you have ruled out already.
About the answer that included giving your dog Tylenol or another medication: Acetaminophin, the active ingredient in Tylenol, causes liver failure in dogs and can be fatal. Please, please, please check with a vet before you give your pet any medication unless you know it is specifically designed for animals.

she is in pain... sounds like it could be arthritis... or maybe when she was in the bath she pulled a muscle or tendon. Ask your vet how much tylenol or ibuprofen you can administer for her size. It may help.

I agree with everyone else, take her to your vet. Sounds like something wrong inside that you can't feel or see. Good luck.

YOUR DOG IS OLDER AND MAY HAVE ARTHRITUS, YOU MAY WANT TO GET A RAMP OR SOME STEPS THAT LEAD UP TO THOSE TALLER OBJECTS ONCE YOU TALK TO YOUR VET
