The Democrats do not have a solution for Iraq.
There IS NO solution for Iraq. It's a pure unmitigated clusterfuck.
Iraq as a nation is done for. It may be split into 3 countries in an uneasy truce with each other, or remain indefinitely as a lawless bombed-out wasteland run by warlords, radical clerics, and gangsters.
No one wants to hear this truth, but Republicans are better than Democrats at telling people what they want to hear.
In fact, Republicans dragged us into an illegal, unwinnable war, for the most morally reprehensible reasons, mismanaged it for three years, and have finally handed off the ball to Democrats just in time for them to take the blame for "losing" Iraq.
The Bush administration has no solution either, but they proclaim that if they just "Stay The Course" we will win. They know this is a lie- but by letting Democrats be the ones to pull the plug, they can keep saying that if we had only had the "Will To Prevail" things would have been different, and it's all the fault of those bleeding heart liberal sissies for giving up and Letting The Terrorists Win.
Americans hear that on Fox News, take it as gospel, and forget who originally started the war and why. Mission Accomplished.

Yeah. The Democrat solution for Iraq is to replace Bush and all of the Republicans with Democrats by convincing everyone that the Republican solution was the worst thing that has ever happened in the world. In short, their solution is to increase their own power and make it look like they are opposed to whatever the Republicans were doing because, according to the Democrats, the Republicans are getting us into the worst mess ever. Their opposition and their criticism IS their solution, not to empower Iraqis but to empower their own political party.

There is no formally stated position by the democratic party of the United States. They would be suicidal to do so.
Your question presupposes that there IS a 'solution'. I certainly hope there is, but I have a sneaking hunch that the reasons for "why Iraq is the way Iraq is", is so steeped in history, hidden secrets, power plays, religious that supercomputers run by angels with a goose from the almighty couldn't sort it out.
We'll probably end up with a compromise where fewer people die for no apparent reason than they do today.

Only time will tell how the dems will again screw over the military, but here is my prediction:
1. Change uniforms to pink with teddy bears so they are more 'calming' and 'soothing'.
2. Hold Bin-ladens hand and apologize on CNN, as 9-11 was really our fault and we know that he only kills people by the thousands because of his abusive father.
3. Give Bin-Laden nuclear reactors and nuclear technology for 'peaceful' use (also see Clinton giving the same to North Korea)
4. Hire Dr.Phil and Oprah for group counseling sessions for our soldiers to find out why they are such meanies to the peace loving terrorists.
5. Discharge every soldier in the military and send them free money forever from the government, as they are disabled from their 6 months as a cook in Baghdad.

Well we don't have to go back to where we started -- the "no-fly" zone, which was eliminated by President Bush's ground war. Previously, we had pitted multi-million dollar American aircraft against Saddam's "SAM" missiles and 57mm anti-aircraft guns. His equipment and men were both cheap and plentiful, so Saddam took potshots at us with no fear of any significant loss.
Whatever is left of these, and any other large weapons, are controlled by the new Iraqi government, leaving the insurgents with only IED's, RPG's, and small arms.

The question should be does ANYBODY know a solution.
It doesn't matter what the democrats think, the pres is the one that got us into this mess he (the executive) has to get us out.
Everyone can make a suggestion but George has to solve it not congress.
Doesn't that give you a lot of hope.

yep.have our troops, but their tail between their legs, just like in Vietnam, and run, while the enemy takes shoots at our troops, and kills those Iraqis that tried to help us put their country back together.just because liberals do not have what it takes to do all the killing necessary to get these people in line, they fear nothing but death, until you are willing to punish those that create lawlessness, then, this will never end,how do you think saddam kept these people in control.by brute force,if you are not willing to do the same until you show them the good of freedom, then trouble is what you ask for,and trouble you will get!

The reason you have not heard a policy yet. Is because not until Jan 1 2007 does the 110th Congress convene. Until that time the republicians still have Congress...
Geez do you even know how our government works?

Thank you SO much for asking that question. I've asked so many democrats what their plan is that is "so much better" and all I hear is..."Well...*stuttering*..you see...we...we'll bring home the troops" so I'm like "OK, how?" and then they start stuttering again. I just can't seem to get a straight answer. I hope you do though!
