I've got alot of great responses about my earlier question below. Would a casual email be considered less forward/needy/etc?:

To dial or not to dial...?
Met up with a guy twice. We were def attracted to each other. Spoke on the phone a few times. He cancelled our date last week, but hasn't called since.

Obviously, this isn't a serious thing going on here, but I'd like to get to know him better, at least as a friend. Normally, I if someone cancels, I believe it is up to that person to make the next move. I'm 29, but new to all this. Is this time to get lost? Or would I be a fool to call him because he hasn't already done so?

I think he'd, at least, make an interesting friend!

One phone call couldn't hurt... to me... one attempt isn't to forward on your part... there really could be a good reason why you haven't heard from him... you can also forward a few jokes etc... to him with just a friendly hello ... let nature take it's course... relax and don't be to pushy... if he continues not to respond to you in the way think think he should back off...

Come on now....

The hardest part of this is self control, but it's worth it. The rule I made for myself (after many stupid phone calls and acts of neediness) is: If I don't feel 100% comfortable doing it, don't. If I call (or write or text or drive by or e-mail or show up at his work or...) and there's any risk of him thinking I'm needy, then don't do it.
