Hobart is a small town and all the other towns in Tassie are even smaller. If you like small town environments then you'll be right.
People are nice and friendly and welcoming.

Outside the towns is beautiful countryside - except the parts where they've removed all the trees.

Weather is mild to cold, and quite wet usually.

Where are you moving to its different in different areas. Don't expect to have all hours shopping. Expect to be bored out of your brain. Very limited entertainment same old stuff year in year out. Great education if you have kids start them off easy and let them move on to other states. Definitely no people with two heads here!! Don't act like a arrogant person and you should fit in fine. Very friendly people cheap dining great produce. Get yourself out there and talk to everyone you meet. If you don't like cold weather don't come. Also the petrol prices are bloody expensive here and LPG is almost twice what it is on mainland !!!

Tassie is a lovely place, very easy going and laid back. Depends what town you are moving to, the north west coast (Devonport) is beautiful, lovely people and great way of life, but depending on what area you are skilled in, you may find it more difficult to find work than somewhere like Launceston or HObart.

I was in Hobart many years ago and loved it. I felt the same about New Zealand too. Australia was a little too big for a country boy like me.
