it depends what she has done to her hair...
1.How long is it?
2.What has she done to her hair in the past 2-4 years?(bleach, dye etc...)
3. Texture?(fine, medium, coarse)
4.Density?(does she have a lot of hair)
5. Porosity?(is her hair resistant or porous)
*If shes used alot of box dye, bleach or permed her hair, she will look like a q-tip.
Once youve determined all of these things, it all depends. But I HIGHLY recommend getting it done at a salon. Dont try it yourself!
Good luck!♥

nicely earlier you do some thing like for you to continually do your study. I have heard too many thoughts about chemically straightened hair, and they don't look reliable. So i'd say do not do it. And only make investments in an particularly reliable flat iron, and anti-frizz products. Its a lots a lot less of a danger. also, the reason your hair continues to be wavy in spots is because you're literally not taking some time to straighten it. Its a lengthy procedure for curly/wavy hair.

If it is already damaged and dry chemically straightening it will only make it worse. I dont suggest anyone getting their hair permanantly straightened by chemicals because I've had serious damage done to my hair from it. But if your friend still isnt convinced I say go to a professional for the first time and everytime for a touch up and maintenance.

My hair is like that. First I would suggest getting it trimmed... all the split unhealthy end cut off. It makes it look so much better. If you want to chemically straighten it you can use a regular perm solution but perm it straight instead of curly. I suggest not using chemicals and using a straightening iron.. it's better for the hair.

Do not even consider doing it yourselves ... it really can
do permanent damage, especially to your hairline which can be very awkward, to say the least.. It is not that it is difficult, but there are some things that are best left in the
hands of a professional ... Would you consider cutting it
quite short? Sometimes a short hairdo can be very attractive ...The dry, damaged situation you can probably remedy yourselves, but if you can, go to a good salon for
some advice .... it's fun!

You may want to get it done professionally. If not, her hair could become much more damaged or she could even lose it.

unless you are a licensed hairdresser do not touch her hair. She must get it done professionally or may risk losing it and you losing her as a friend when she does. You'll burn her scalp, ruin her hair or worse.

i would go get it done profesionally but if i really want it dat bad because if its already that damaged it may end up worse...i know someone who did that and whenever they wash their hair it looks and feels like clumps of gum.... so i would really think about it...and go to someone who knows their stuff....good luck
