Are you serious? Windows XP Pro comes with sound drivers of many makes. If you are not getting sound try the following steps:
1. Check the connection from your PC to the speakers.
2. Make sure speakers are powered on.
3. Make sure you properly installed the most updated drivers that support your sound card. Check your manufacturer's website.
4. If you have intergrated sound, check the mother boards website for the drivers for that sound. Install the latest drivers and you should be good to go.
5. If all else fails, call your PC or sound cards' manufacturer for further assistance.

Are you trying to tell me that you have no sound at all? If yes, check the cable connections behind the computer, between your sound card and your speakers. Do you have speakers? If not go get them and install them by following the instructions that come with them. My response could be better if your question was complete and more specific with your problem.

Hope this helps
