Because the job isn't done. Do you want the lives of our dead soldiers to mean nothing? Doesn't matter why we went, we did and now we have to see it through. The reason we aren't winning is because people like you aren't supporting us. Hate the reasons we're there, but don't let our soldiers die in vain, make it mean something, bring freedom to an oppressed country, get more oil, just take out a bad guy whatever the reason, we're there, support us.

now terrorists have stormed into the country after sadaam left, sunnis and shiites are killing each other while their clerics are watching. IRAN on the side is waiting for iraq and its governemnt to fall apart so it can leap in and take over... if not them then the clerics will try to run the country....

i dont see any oil... do you? please show me WHERE you see the oil we have "taken" from iraq? the prices are the same since the elections... stop thinking about yourself and focus on the good our soldiers are doing like trying to keep order and helping their governemnt get closer to democracy. I KNOW it is hard to see that with the media talking about kidnappings and bombings everyday but i guess all we can do is "stay the course" and finish what we started even if we are trying to clean up bush's mistake

Youtube??? Are you serious? You might as well have put a myspace link in your question. Did it ever occur to you that Sadam has participated in genocide against the Kurds, which is only a tiny reason he cannot be put back in power? Perhaps the only tragedy is that you or people like you weren't there when he did it. You are a greedy, unthankful, petty, embarrassing individual.

Little known fact. The "Mission Accomplished" banner and statement was given on an aircraft carrier that had recently completed it's mission, that banner was stating that they had accomplished their mission it had nothing to do with the entire war in Iraq. Unfortunately nobody will hear about this because the liberal media is in bed with Bush haters and can not broadcast the truth.

Also: Read: "Saddam's Secrets"-by General Sada before you make an idiotic statement like putting Saddam back in power.

I think the reason that we are still in Iraq is because we haven't come home yet. That seems to be a good enough reason. The only way you could possibly understand is to go yourself and contribute blood, sweat and tears for someone else to have freedom from wicked men and ignorant beliefs.

It's not all about oil, It's got a lot more to do with the Cheney cronies who have stock in the munitions industry, and I'm sure the manufacturers of body bags are big contributors as well.

Wow. I see a lot of people who really think their answers through from back to front. Nice job. :)

Fact: Saddam Hussein, during his reign of terror was indirectly involved with 300,000 to 500,000 murders of his own citizens. This is from his own countrymen.

Fact: There WERE WMD in Iraq. Serin is a WMD. And one of the many chemical agents he ordered used on Kurd villagers. It has also been discovered that he ordered the burial of a portion of those he sent to their deaths buried alive. Entire families in the same ditch being covered up while still breathing.

Fact: He was in violation of the UN Resolutions passed and agreed to by a majority of member nations. A link below refers to all UN Resolutions passed against Iraq in recent years.

Fact: An overwhelming majority voted in favor of this action, BOTH Democrat, as well as Republican. I am hoping that good sense will prevail in the decision making process to come.

There were other facts as well that really have little bearing at this point. That Saddam was put in place by our government and then got too big for his britches. That some of our political leaders are served by this war. etc.

But, at this point, the only fact that matters to me is this. We are in this. We must finish it to our satisfaction. The people (citizens) of Iraq are depending on the alliance to see that they have the means to stand on their own with as little help from us as possible. To turn tail now would demean the ultimate sacrifice of our young men & women who died in this war. Plus, and this is very important to you being able to make statements and comments, no matter if they are valid or not. It will benefit the future of this country as well as other countries around the globe. To leave now would firstly, set a very bad precedent (again) that America hasn't the balls to take the fight to them. Secondly, a vacuum would be created that the Islamic radicals in Iran would LOVE to fill, throwing the entire region into an even worse state of stability than it has ever been. Likely, their first order of business would be to lob nukes at Kuwait, Israel and Saudi Arabia.

As one who has been in contact with military personnel serving in Iraq, I can tell you that you are NOT getting the truth from the news you are watching. Someone in another question made statements to the effect that water systems were not working, electricity was off all over, hospitals and schools were destroyed...on and on. NOT TRUE. In the majority of the urban areas, the lights are on, water is running, school is in session, businesses and public services are up and running. *Women are actually able to seek medical help from a doctor of their choice, they can finally go back to school freely if they wish, they have basic human rights which, they did not have before Saddam was taken down. Don't believe everything CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox News or any other outlet tells you. Dig a little to find out the truth.

This is not something that is akin to running to Wal Mart for snacks. This is a huge undertaking and one that will require intestinal fortitude for a good while to come. I see a lot of people complaining about the cost of this war. How much is the life of your family worth to you? What price do you put on your freedom to make the claims you make? I have 3 beautiful grandbabies, I want them to be able to grow up, go to college, hopefully meet a nice man and one day have children of their own in a safe world, free of the violence we are living with. If it means putting some tinpot dictator out of business, I am ready to go back in the military to help do so. This is going to take guts to finish in the right way, I just hope our incoming political servants have the stuff it takes.
