I can cancel without having to tell him what is going on? I really hate to cancel but I had a emergency today. I am not sure if he would understand, and since we just met, I am not sure if I can tell him what happened. I am very upset about it and it is nothing that I can do. It is a Ugly situation, literally. Please help

As a guy, you get really tired of girls "dropping hints' that they don't really want to go out with you i.e.; lying and making up an excuse.
If you don't want him to think this, then you have to be honest and tell him why.
And if I were you, I would also make a point of telling him "hey, this is legitimate, I'm not brushing you off", and then set a definite DATE to do it again, not just a vague "call me sometime" or "well do it some other time", or you're likely to never hear from him again.

as long as you're actually not contagious, it relatively is going to no longer be a difficulty. And in the adventure that your chilly is actual obvious with the sneezing and coughing, that ain't a million/2 as embarrassing as being a guy, and stood up in front of a team of persons. call him first and only communicate issues over to ascertain if there would desire to be a date day after today, or some days from now.

Call him ASAP and re-schedule. Why couldn't you tell him? Not that you HAVE to tell him. But, is your emergency going to last until tomorrow night?
You can just tell him something came up and you would really like to see him so can you reschedule for the following day...
