Yes. Sin is anything which is not allowed by our religion.

A brief concept of sins:

1. Unforgivable sin: Only one sin is considered as unforgivable, which is Shirk, setting up partners with Allah. The doer of this sin must sincerely repent to Allah, and determine not to do that again. It is expected that Allah will forgive him/her.

2. Major sins: The major sins are those acts which have been forbidden by Allah in the Qur’an and by His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Sunnah , and which have been made clear by the actions of the first righteous generation of Muslims, the Companions of the Prophet. For example,

* Murdering
* Not praying
* Not paying zakah
* Lying
* Showing disrespect to parents, etc.

3. Minor sins: These sins are highly recommended to avoid, however, these sins are simply removed by doing good deeds.

Yes they do. It's forgiveness that they are not sure about.
They believe that Allah is merciful but they can't be sure they will get to heaven or that their sins will be forgiven.
In the end, it depends on whether their good deeds outweigh the bad deeds and on whether they followed all the guidelines such as fasting, prayer and the pilgrimage to Meccah.

joshy needs to keep his mouth shut especially when hes gonna try to answer a question which he doesnt know. anyhow, yes muslims believe in sins, which are of two types-major and minor.

minor-(if u keep doing minor sins over and over again they become major like how if u keep adding pennies they end up becoming dollars.

associating partners with allah
having illegal sex
killing innocents
minor-(if u keep doing minor sins over and over again they become major like how if u keep adding pennies they end up becoming dollars.
not praying
not fasting
not paying zakat(charity(if u have extra money you would have to pay 2.50 out of a 100)(you have to pay for gold and silver jewelry)
backbitting
lying
stealing
hurting someones feelings
revealing ur body
not helping the needy out of ignorance when it is affordable to u

associating anything with Allah; magic; killing one whom Allah has declared inviolate without a just case, consuming the property of an orphan, devouring usury, turning back when the army advances, and slandering chaste women who are believers but indiscreet." (bukhari and muslim)

no such crap joshy. christian, jews, muslims, we have the same god an most prophets.
the difference is between christianity and islam is that jesus is our beloved prophet, not our god. so ofcourse, in islam sinning is sex before marraige, murder and so on etc. , like christians . our prophet mohamad warned his followers not to force any non-muslis to convert and he very much respected the christians.

hey mikhail? u mental?the ****** question is "do muslims believe in sin?" and i say yes, and im talkin bout joshuas comment . the "muslims" ur refering to r not following the real islam, i ...... forget it u narrow minded creep.
...u a jew huh? hah. no wonder. u seriously need a shrink.

i could go on arguing and elaborte , but dont wanna waste time.
