Being that you will already be married you will not need another license. All you need is an officiant that will perform the ceremony.
You can celebrate either date you want, but the original date on the marriage license will be the legal one that is on file.

my fiance (wife) and I got legally married this past June for insurance reasons. We figured it would save us a ton of money to get married now on insurance alone, than if we waited. So we did just what you are thinking about doing. We scheduled a time at the county clerks office and got married. We made it as blah as we could so we can still plan a big wedding and have it mean as much.....
We actually went and got married at 10:30 in the AM at the clerks office, we to lunch, and then both went to work. We also decided to keep it a secret from everyone. Only one person knows and that is my wife's best friend. We are still planning a big ceremony in March and as far as everyone else is concerned, that is our wedding.....its our little secret that we are already married.
You will not need a marriage license though, because you are already married....and you will need to clue the minister in because they will wonder why they aren't signing a license.
Good luck!!

Of course you can have a huge ceremony after you've been legally married. That is what me and my fiance are doing. Wwe want to get legally married next February and because my parents live in Germany we'll have a huge ceremony a year or two later so they can attend our wedding.
You don't even have to do it on the same date, do it whenever... The date on your marriage license from the County Clerk Office will be your official Wedding date though.
Oh and of course - Congratulations!!!

Of course it would be ok. If you don't have the money right now but you still want to get married do it. The church won't have to use your old marriage liscense because when you do the ceremony it will be for show.(your all ready married by then) The church won't have a problem with that at all. Less paperwork for them in the end.

i do no longer recognize what portion of NC your in, yet IMO i might pass to TN pigeon forge is dazzling to elope. you may get a license there extraordinarily much less costly (my sis went there a pair years in the past have been given her license and married comparable day). what's the element of dealing with it fascinated by no longer something, with the aid of fact by regulation you would be no longer something and an hassle-free regulation is living mutually for 10 yrs till now it counts in some states. in case you may no longer have sufficient money to do it legally how are you able to have sufficient money to even play married? what form of ceremony are you having? i do no longer even think of a clergyman will preform a ceremony without a license. Why no longer basically pass as much as Tn get married then come returned and have a ceremony and reception and incredibly be married. to respond to your question you won't be able to be married without a license a minimum of no longer legally.

Totally fine. A lot of couples do that now adays... it cuts down on the stress leading up to the wedding ceremony...and you don't have to worry about getting cold feet or being run out on, on your wedding day. That's what me and my fiancee are planning on doing aswell :)

In the Catholic Church you can have a 'blessing' for all intents and purposes it is a renewal of the wedding vows. If you are not Catholic, I imagine any Christian Church will do likewise. You do not need your license, but take the marriage certificate with you when you see the Parish Priest/Clergy................

i think its perfectly fine to have a city hall marriage then have a real ceremony later. im even thinking of doing it myself just so my dad can be there to walk me down the aisle when he gets back home. he will be gone for the original date but i really want him to walk me down the aisle so i thought that a city hall marriage might help so i can get married but when hes home have another ceremony so that he'll be able to do it.

Absolutely! My sister and my brother-in-law are getting remarried at Disney World. They have been married for three and a half years and they got married at the court house in our home town. Good luck and have fun planning it.
