Well, I do believe it is mankind that causes most of it. One day if things don't change, mankind will not be able to survive, We have to deal with, man fight with each other, global warming second. Extinction has many causes, in the last 200 years it has been primarily the settling of what were formerly wilderness areas.

In other news, most of the thousands of species that became extinct, became extinct in prehistoric times.
