Bets place for a portrait tattoo in CT?

My bf keeps talking about getting a tattoo with a realistic looking face, Id like some good references of where we could go in Connecticut, thanks.

portraits are extremely difficult to pull off. i would suggest doing some research on portrait artists. and not just going somewhere in your area that is "okay" there are always a lot of tattoo conventions in the new york area, and connecticut is pretty close to new york (closer than me, louisiana) definitely check out some conventions and there will most likely be some portrait artists. look at portfolios. because it'd be horrible to have a bad portrait tattoo. good luck!

well - tattoos hurt the least when they're in a fatty area (don't know if that's a consideration for you). i've seen the back (shoulder-blade area) be a place for portraits. over the heart is a good one too. the outer thigh would probably be another good place (depending on the size of the portrait you want, you'll want a large working surface). good luck - i hope it turns out well. make sure that you get a good artist, and that they use clean equipment - ask to see their autoclave area - if it's not clean, walk away...

When I got my last tattoo they were going to hire a guy that does amazing work. I can't remember the name of the place but it is in Hamden across the street from Walgreen on Dixwell ave. I have had both of my tattoos there and the price is right.

Honestly, for something like a portrait, I wouldn't limit myself to one state. Find the best portrait artist you can, and work from there.
