Take a stand. I hate the fact that I go to school all day, come home at three, wash the morning dishes my family left in the sink, prepare dinner, cook dinner, wash the pots and pans, pick up my daughter from school and get home in time to see my lovely husband stretched out on the couch asking when dinner will be on the table.

It reminded me of my stepdad and I would pick up everyone's mail from the mailbox except his, wash everyone's dishes except his, and serve everyone dinner, except him. :) Eventually he got the point.

But try to keep in mind if he works long hours or does something absolutely exhausting while at work. Think of the kind of lifestyle he lets you have and then think about if he is really lazy or not.

You should stop complaining. Do you pay for where you are living? If you drive did you pay for the car, the gas, the maintenance, the insurance, the tires.... Do you pay for the water that you are using? Do you pay for the heat that you are taking up? Do you pay for the clothes on your back?
You sound like you are school age. You need to realize that you are in the EASIEST part of life. After working a long day your dad should not have to lift a finger. He should be able to come home and rest.
To answer your question I think that you should stop being so self-centered.

Well until your 18 and have moved out normally you do have to listen to your parents. I know it is not what you want to hear but children can learn from their parents so when you get out on your own don't make the same mistakes your parents make or father in your case.
