Set free? Yes, to a point. I am now more aware of my failings and my inability to overcome them all to a point that I will be perfect, in ANY area.

Knowing the truth? Again, yes, to a point.
As a finite being, I am only capable of so much and there is more out there than I can EVER absorb. I, of course, fail and misunderstand thing, all the time. so while I am in error, I think that I have the truth, but do not. Only while being open to the possibility that I could be 100% wrong, 100% of the time, do I advance in all things, even the spiritual.
This has led me down a twisting path from pew sitting person who thought that being nice was enough, to an ardent 'name-it-and-claim-it' Pentecostal, to the dedicated non-denominationalist, that I am today.
The problem with truth is this:
it is unchanging and absolute, but WE are not and WE often fail to see it for what it is.

Yes. I have been studying the bible with a fury for the last six months. The only regret that I have is that I did not start doing it a long time ago. I lived like a slave for Satan for so many years and had no idea of the damage that I did to myself and to my family. Today Iam a free man and Satan does not pull my strings anymore, thanks to the undeserved kindness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Chist. God knows those who have a good heart but have not come to know him for whatever reason and He will search those out in this time of the end. At Daniel 12:4, 10 we read; "Many will clense thenselves and whiten themselves and will be refined. And the wicked ones will certainly act wickedly, and no wicked ones at all will understand, but the ones having insight will understand." I thank God that my heart searched for insight and found it through his Word, the bible, for I was very lost, but now He lights my way so that I do not stumble into the Darkness that is Satan the Devil, the manslayer of the whole inhabited earth....2 Cor. 4:3-4....KECK

Yes. This scripture is talking about mankind being a slave to sin. When you realize the truth about what has happened, what is happening, and what is going to happen, you are no longer burdened or trapped or tricked into being a slave to minute and trivial things again. However, we still posses an inherited sin of imperfection. So in a way I am still a slave to the curse that we are all under but I can control myself enough so that I am not a slave to any other unnecassary masters. So in this way I am as free as anyone can be and yes it is because I have realized the truth.

Yes, but read on. You don't have to be a member of MENSA to understand the truth. The truth it is speaking of is the fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. God's inspired word, the Bible, tells how to obtain that freedom. I'm not any smarter than anyone else here, but I know enough by reading and studying the Bible to know what He wants us to do. Having done that, you do get a "peace that passeth understanding." I am not without sin, I am just forgiven.

No. The Bible refers the "knowing of truth and are Set free" to liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth and all the suffering and limitation entailed in embodied worldly existence.

In higher Hindu philosophy, it is seen as a transcendence of phenomenal being, of any sense of consciousness of time, space, and causation (karma). However, It is not seen as a soteriological goal in the same sense as in a Christian context, but signifies rather a dissolution of the sense of self as an egoistic personality — the undoing of conditioned mentality-materiality. Liberation is achieved by (and accompanied with) the complete stilling of all passions — a state of being known as Nirvana

Being Set free is a non-dualistic state of consciousness in which the consciousness of the experiencing subject becomes one with the experienced object and in which the mind becomes still (one-pointed or concentrated) though the person remains conscious.

Yes, and the truth did set me free, in my case free from religion. Studying science however played a role too.

Yes. I have studied the bible until I realized that it is a load of crap, and I have been set free from its restraints.

I can finally think for myself!!! I can evaluate REAL scientific evidence with an open mind. I no longer believe that a man must be the head of my household, therefore I can participate in important decisions such as financial investments, major purchases, etc. Always before I felt like the man had the final say, regardless of my wishes.

Yes, I read and studied the Bible from cover to cover, just like I have for other religions, and eventually I was set free from lies and deceit.

Good for you. When God retires you're just the person to take His place. These days there are so many who claim to 'know the truth'. So how does it feel to have the power to make all of the worlds problems go away, but do nothing about it? Think maybe you have patted your own back a little prematurely?
