He was found unconscious last nite and rushed to the hospital. He continues to be sedated but will awake every once in a while and shake violently. The doctors have also reported that he has an unusually high amount of enzymes in his liver. Unfortunately, I am removed from the situation by distance and don't know much. Based on this, though, can anyone take a stab at what the problem might be. The doctors do not know. This has never happened to him before and is only 31 yrs old and living a very healthy and active lifestyle. Thanks for any comments.

You won't find out the answer here. A whole lot of possibilities but the probability of any of them being correct will be very slim.

Let the doctors run their test and analyze the results. While this may not have occured before it could be a new or preexisting condition that was never discovered. It can be anything as simple as an allergic reaction to something - or something more serious like a heart condition. It's just difficult to determine with the info that you have thus far. Hopefully its not anything serious.

Whilst I understand your concern - I would council against taking any advice on this matter from anyone other than the doctors concerned. How could anyone else even take a stab at a prognosis by e-mail?

good luck

Possibly too many alcoholic drinks.
A person can have delirium tremons (seizures related to too much alcohol intake). Alcohol toxicity elevates the liver enzymes suggesting damage.
