Why not, I have had 1 best friend since I was 5 years old. He & I grew up together and were each others rocks over the years. When he got married I was his best man and he was my maid of honor when I got married.
You can have whoever you want stand up with you. It is whoever is most important to you. As far as what we wore his other groomsmen were in black tuxs so I wore a black dress with a jacket and my bridesmaids wore navy dresses & he wore a navy suit.
It's your day do whatever you want!!

Besides it being an oxymoron, I see no problem. I have heard of several occasions when a female was asked to "stand up" for a male friend and assume the role of the best man. The only problem I see is the traditional role on the maid of honor in helping the bride dress for the wedding. You may want to split the various function of the 'Maid of Honor' between a few people and simply have your male friend stand next to you at the wedding. Any chance you could choose your mother, an aunt, a female cousin, the groom's sister for this very female functionary?

Of course your best guy friend can be your "Man of Honor." It's your wedding, you can do whatever you want. I've seen weddings where the "best man" is a woman, and a wedding where they went ahead and had two best men because the groom was best friends with them equally. I've even seen a wedding where they dressed a bulldog up in a tux and made him the ring bearer! My point is, it's your day, and if you will feel happier having your best friend at your side instead of a lesser friend who happens to be a female, I say go for it! (You can even make it a little joke and make him carry a bouquet, if he's down!)

No problem. His official title would be Bride's Honor Attendant. Also, usually when you do this to keep things balance you call the Best Man, Groom's Honor Attendant instead. But then again it's your day and you can call him what you want. If you want to call him Man of Honor that would be fine too.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Honey, my daughter's best bud was a guy. Problem was he was also the groom's best friend. And the groom bet her to asking. You have your "man of honor". I see no problem or no big deal about this, and believe me it's getting more and more popular.

If he's your best friend, and he's the one you want closest to you before you walk down the aisle. Then please go ahead and do so. It's your wedding day, and if he's willing, to take all the picking and joking then I say, let's do it. I think it would be great, I wished my daughter had beaten the her groom, because she was disappointed.

Have the most wonderful and special wedding day possible, and many many years of happiness!

God bless us all.............

While I understand asking for peoples opnions, what you have to ask is... Whos wedding is it?

I am a wedding photographer. I have seen Males on the brides side (yes even in the number one spot) and females on the grooms side (yes even in the number one spot)

It ALL comes down to what you want and are comfortable with. What does your fiance think? What does your friend think? While it is your day it is a moot issue if your friend doesnt want to and it will certainly cause problems if your fiance is against it.

There are things the bridesmaid is to do, so you will either have to find someone else to help, or be comfortale enough with him to let him help. You may already be. Is he ready to set up your wedding shower and bachelorette party?

When we got married my wife was going to ask her friend (male) if he would be on my side as a best man. He refused saying "I have no desire to stand on his side, Im your friend and I will stand on your side or not at all" He did stand on her side, in a tux with a tie and vest that matched the ladies dresses. I even went so far as to have a female friend on my side to balance things out.

It is all in what makes YOU happy, after all, you only get married once (when you do it right)

Of course you can have a guy!! I planned one wedding where the bride had a guy on her side and the groom had a girl on his side. It was really fun because the bride's male attendant wore a black tux with the vest and tie matching the bridesmaids...then the groom's female attendant wore a black dress, to match the tuxedos, that had a sash around the waist which matched the groomsmen's vests and ties. It was a fun wedding and it really suited the couple. Go for it!!!

you're called a guy of honor or an honor attendant. You dress only like the perfect guy outfits . . . in a tux. you do no longer placed on a bridesmaid's dress. You placed on a bout like another men in the marriage occasion. you do no longer carry a bouquet.

It's perfectly fine. Call him the Man of Honor.

I don't know sounds kinda silly to me. Couldn't you just find someone....anyone......to be your MAID (girl) of honor and let the poor guy keep his dignity and be a best man or grooms man. On the flip side of things....this is YOUR wedding. However, you did ask for MY opinion and I think that is just silly!
