my cats old and gross?

hes really skinney and senile, hes always twitching, when he shakes his head snot goes everywhere, hes always crapping in the house(diarrhea). and when he begs for food he claws at me and meows really loud in the most annoying tone (he never did that when he was young).
Should i put him down?

Moroccan Kitty Tagine

3.cinnamon
4.cumin seed
5.ginger

7.stock (chicken stock will do)
8.dried apricots or other fruit (raisins are also good) vanilla bean 9.hot chiles olives (black) onion

After quartering, brown Kitty at medium-high heat. Remove Kitty from the pan and brown the chopped onion (one medium). Return Kitty to the pan and add ground cinnamon, cumin seeds and fresh grated ginger, roughly half a teaspoon each (reducing heat if necessary to avoid burning the spices) and salt. After Kitty is properly coated, add a two cups stock, dried fruit, vanilla (scrape the small beans from the pod), a cinnamon stick, the chopped chiles and olives (both of the latter to taste). Simmer Kitty on low heat for ~30 minutes or until tender.

Plate Kitty with rice, polenta, or most authentically cous cous. Gewurztraminer would be a good choice for wine to go with him. Don't skimp on the cognac either, Kitty deserves the best.

You need to take him to a vet. That would be an immediate action before even asking this question on yahoo. Most loving pet owners would. You don't sound like you're very compassionate toward this animal, but a vet visit is a MUST.

I had a cat that had the runny nose and diarrhea thing and it turned out to be feline leukemia. We took him to the vet, and as the vet was pushing and poking around to check him out, he start bleeding everywhere. Nose, mouth, ears...He had to be put to sleep that very same day.

Personally, I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that he needs to be put down. I had a friend who was having a similar problem with her cat, and it turned out the cat had a bad gum infection that went away with some antibiotics. I think that when cats do this kind of behavior they want you to make them feel better, and the way to do this is to see the vet.

He really needs to be seen. It may not be just old age but something that is wrong health wise and could be corrected. If it is old age, I would say put him out of his misery as cruel as it sounds but I definately wouldn't jump to it without knowing for sure if he can be helped.

Sounds like you've had this cat for many years, so why now when he needs you most would you turn on him. He needs to seen by a vet. Let a professional decide what is best for your friend, he is your friend isn't he?

How cruel you are to let him suffer so! Would you be so unkind to your grandfather?

Certainly the vet should euthanize him if you are not prepared to have any sympathy for his aging body or give him medications or whatever he might need.

I have a 22 yr old cat who won't be around much longer. Believe me she gets veterinary attention when needed, good food and loving consideration for her aging spirit.

Well, geez, you will be old someday, and your probably going to be annoying then, too. Take him to the vet to see if there is something wrong with him. If he is not in pain, don't put him down. Poor old fellow.

you don't sound like you care much about your cat, if he is begging for food and clawing at you, maybe you should try feeding him, as for the rest, ever heard of a VET !!!

Yeah ,just put him to rest,go to the vet to do it though.Just remember how he was when he was young,Go get another one people give free kittens away all the time ! Check your local newspaper ,or try on-line or somethin'
