I am very afraid of people leaving me. My ex-fiancee used this weakmess. He needed my money, so he coerced me into giving him money and threatened me to leave all the time. He not only took away 4000 US dollars from me, he also beat me up badly, cursed me all the time, and emotionally abused me cruelly. he now works at a U.S. university as a post doc. I asked him and his father to pay me back my money, but they refused. He even threatened me. I know he is afraid that somebody might find out the unhumanely things he did to me. I was in a much better shape before I was involved with him. Now I am emotionally devastated and financially broke. I can't forgive nor forget his cruelty towards me. I want to write to his professor and collegues to let them know the truth. Can I do that? I don't think such a beast should be a professor. Should the woman take all the pain and let the man get away with everything? He faked his bachelor's degree paper too. Should I tell?

Unfortunately, you have very little recourse. You sound like a generous person who shouldn't get consumed by revenge. There is no legal obligation on his part to pay you back. I would suggest that what he's doing now is simply none of your business and your energy would be better invested in helping you get through this difficult time. I think it would be helpful for you to try to understand why you stayed with him or why you didn't call the police when there was physical abuse. You don't want to repeat the patters of this relationship in the future.

I hope that he changes at some point and repays you and apologizes to you, but don't get involved in his personal or professional life. It makes you a worse person. Contacting any of his superiors will not be perceived positively and you could be sued for slander.

very positive. You're lying back watching the clouds just as you are watching the events in your life go by. Everything has clarity and definition, and there is variety as well. You're in a relaxed position indicating that you feel strong and confident about the way things are progressing. The sun feels good and colorful butterflies surround you. These are all the options and opportunities that you have right now, and they are plentiful. They can also signify the people in your life right now. Bright, energetic and beautiful, you are surrounded by positive energy from most every direction. This is a wonderful time for you where you are the one who's in charge of your life, and things are going extremely well. Seize some of those opportunities!

Tell him you are going to take him to small claims court and disclose hishis dishonesty to the university. Don't say "unless he pays you" as this is blackmail. Just do it.

If he comes back with the money....well the rest is up to you. If not, file with your local court (assuming you have some kind of paper trail to most of the money....receipts, cancelled checks, etc.). Personally, I would still disclose him to the school as a form of personal therapy/payback.

YES, YES AND YES!!!!

You can take him to small claims court, can't you where you live? You'll have to have proof you gave him this money.

Yes, write letters to all whom he works around. Try and add copies of any proof you have to them too.

AND yes, if you have proof about the FAKE degree, go straight to the Head Master of the college and of course take your proof!!!

You don't have to allow a man to treat you this way. You end feeling as if there is not anything good about you. YOUR worth more.

Get busy and get this bastard.

It seems you are one of those who were abused during a relationship. Yes, you should tell on him. $4,000 is a lot of money that YOU could have used on yourself, and if you still have the bank statements, you can actually add up everything and then have him throw in jail.
