Jay - No...I have researched it for a friend and there was nothing I saw that correlated with homosexuality.

Aspergers is a form of late onset autism, usually not as severe as other forms.

No, the condition is inherently anti-social and anti-relationship making it not likely connected with the sexual relationships of homosexuality. The man with asperger syndrome manifests such symptoms as:

1. Limited interests or preoccupation with a subject to the exclusion of other activities;

2. Repetitive behaviors or rituals;

3. Peculiarities in speech and language;

4. Socially and emotionally inappropriate behavior and interpersonal interaction;

5. Problems with nonverbal communication; and,

6. Clumsy and uncoordinated motor movements.

Symptoms such as these seem no more to coincide with homosexuality than any other sexual orientation. So while it seems possible for there is be a man with both asperger syndrome and homosexuality; it does not seem likely that the two are somehow related.

There's no sign at all for an increased incidence of homosexuality with Asperger's syndrome.

I've researched aspects of Asperger's syndrome quite extensively since my official diagnosis eighteen months ago.

Asperger's support sites often have lonely hearts pages. And the desires and hopes are (largely) familiar.

Although it causes more confusion over sexuality because it means that the person generally take slonger to understand what is going on, it does not mean that the person will end up a homosexual, from personal experience, a friends son does seem to ahve more female tendancies, but this does not mean he will be gay? We shall just have to wait and see

Not at all likely, many people with Asperger's dislike being touched and are often indifferent to sexuality in any form.

Celibacy is far more likely than homosexuality OR heterosexuality simply because of the difficulty in forming ANY form of relationship.

Firsty, good luck it is not a part I would have chosen to play. Really to avoid upsetting people and to play the character realistically you will possibly offend some people, but there is no way to avoid that. Autism affects people different, they are quiet and alone most of the time. I would research the main qualities of autism rather than one version.

i really don't think so. people who have aspergers function differently and they tend to be very obsessive but i can't see how that would cause them to be gay. my brother has asperger syndrome and hes 100% straight.

No, they are two separate aspects of life, if a person happens to be both then that is just one of those things.
