Have you seen the news reports tonight about that country and what the police were doing beating people with sticks

1. Write to your congressperson about getting them help. (I write to mine about Darfur)
2. Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper to help enlighten people about how much they need help.
3. Find a good organization that helps people. You can donate to Amnesty International right over the net. If you're a christian, you might prefer World Vision.

Google "Suffering people in Zimbabwe" or something like that. There should be a lot of different links. You can donate $ to charities and stuff.

Maybe you can't right this moment. Look around where *you* are, though, and see what you can do. Our local food bank is preparing Thanksgiving dinners to hand out to families next week, and is looking for volunteers to help...and no doubt there's something similar going on in your area, too. It's a start. Can't save the whole world at once, but a step at a time makes a difference to somebody.

the problem with donating to countries is that the corrupt people in charge get the money, and the people who need it don't get anything. Microfinance I think, is about giving money straight to the people who need it the most.
