It's Prozac the doc has given you, I think. It may take a little while but your mood will lift eventually, so you will be able to cope better.
I would think about some counselling too.
I hope you feel better soon.

I take 30g of fluoxetine and I love it. I have been taking it for 2 year now and it has helped me very much. I don't even know if I need to take it, but I do as I like the schedule of taking the medication knowing it is making me feel better. It takes time to build up in your system, so you will not notice anything initially.

Hi My husband is on these
He has ADD and gets depressed easily.
He's been on them about 3 mths and had the dose upped to 2 each morning.
I have noticed a big difference in him in that little things don't niggle him as much and make him snap.
Id love to give you a big hug to say everything'll get better. the tablets i believe will help you but give them time and don't be surprised if ur dose gets upped - don't worry about it. Disclaimer: Im not a doctor. Contct me persoanlly if u wanna chat.
Good luck darling. xxx

Fluoxetine (Prozac) are anti-depressants. It usually takes about 2-3 weeks for you to start feeling the benefit of them.
ps. I do hope you mean 20mg, not 20g.

They wont magically take away your bad thoughts but they will help to give you the mental strength to deal with it. They take time to work so stick with it for a while, recovery is a long slow process. Good luck.

Probably, I've just started taking them too and after a week or so and I sometimes feel like they're making a difference. If they don't work just go back to your GP and they should be able to help you out. Hope they work :)

Hold on let me put on my doctor's smock!
Are you for real? How stupid or depressed are you to be asking the likes of us a question that only a seasoned medical professional can answer? Even if anyone here has taken, or is on that particular medication, the dosage varies from individual to individual. Do yourself a favor and consult a DOCTOR!!!

they used to stop me in my tracks for a couple of minutes total dream world. DO NOT DRIVE or use any machinery. if u are taking them don't suddenly stop you need to reduce the dosage gradually to get off them or you hit a BIG downer and back to where you started.
