it's not as cheap as ppl think...you gotta pay..
1.50 for Reg.fee
1.00 for E911
2.00 State Tax( different rates, for different States)
1.39 Universal Service Charge..
plus the 24.99...and you got no guaranty that it will work!

Income Tax at it's basic rate is 22% and it can increase to 40%, there also alot of other taxes, such as a tax to watch TV and silly stuff like that. living cost is extremeley high aswell, with basic food prices rocketing at the moment and the price of Petrol at about £1.10 a ltire, £5 a gallon, which is about $10/gallon housing is extremely expensive, as we are only a small island and land is expensive. the average house price, taken from across the UK is £220'000 so about $440'000 American Dollars. but houses are more expensive in the South and a bit Cheaper up North. the health care isnt bad, but there are massive waiting lists before you can even be seen to eb treated which is a major downfall with it. like others have said, you will find it extremely difficult to get visa's to work and to get permanent residancy unless you cna prove that you have a skill that no one else in this country has. The island, to put it honestly, is overcroweded, to many people, and just not enough rooms, not enough jobs, and not enough housing for evreryone, it's cramped, rainy, polluted and dull, but we Brits love it all the same

I personally don't like Vonage. Had tooo many problems. Now waiting for the end of November when I finally will be able to cancel my membership. They can't explain what do you really need in order to have the service with them. You get to know it after you signed up, and paid money. You get to know that you have to have this and that... And if you don't like it you have 30 days to cancel, after that $38 to cancel.. They probably won't tell you. They do not give you a lot of information unless you ask. So if you really want to go with them start writing your list of questions. And to be honest they ave a better international rates, but looking overall, I'm sick and tired of them...
I prefer AT&T. It's much easier with them. I left them, tuck with Vonage and finlaly signed up with AT&T again.
Hope it will help,
Good Luck,
Svetlana

I have Vonage and love it, I pay 31.22 per month here in Michigan(the 24.99 option plus fees and taxes they all have) and I can call anywhere in the USA, kinda like a cell phone for free, and I have the more expensive plan with more minutes. Just remember you have to have high speed Internet, I did have problems in the beginning, they sent me 2 bad routers so it took a month to get going, just keep your old phone system until its fully working. I did have 2 days when it was acting up, allot of static, mmmmm and it was the same 2 days comcast (my Internet provider) provided me with 2 things in the mail, and 3 phone calls asking if I wanted to switch to comcast phone, but no problems since. Vonage has never tried to increase there fees, like ATT, vonage has never hit me up for other charges, like ATT, Vonage has never been rude to me on phone, like ATT. Vonage is cheaper that ATT and comcast. I think Comcast and ATT just will ALLWAYS try to screw you, I just cant see myself forgiving ATT from all the junk they have pulled in the past. But this is just my own personal experience...
PS: last thing I like to add, that I love is that with vonage, you can sign onto your account online and make your own personal settings, for example, you can have it set up so when someone calls your vonage line, it will ring your cell phone also (they have different options, I have it so vonage doesnt take care of my voice mail, my cell phone does, so calls to vonage line rings BOTH my home phone and cell phone and I choose which to answer which works out great for what i do since I am in and out all the time, also that way I even have 2 lines with one phone number, because if someone calls vonage line and I pick it up on my home phone, if someone else calls on same vonage number, it rings thru to my cell phone and I can answer or I can allways switch over to it using the call waiting on home phone.. I know kinda complicated but thats the best part I like.

2 tin cans and a string would be better than AT&T.
I had them for a year (due to a DSL contract). I signed up for the all inclusive plan, which included local, local toll, long distance and all of the calling features for one price.
My bill was different every month, higher than what it should have been. No one could explain it, not even their so called managers. IF I was offered a credit, I never saw it reflected on my bill.
I was TOO happy to get rid of them and switch to MCI.

Vonage sucks. I had vonage and just like the Democrat Party they never met a tax they don't like. I use a voip provider that doesn't charge any tax. Oops, I hope Lois Lerner doesn't come busting down my door, along with Hillary Clinton to collect my firearms.

VONAGE HAS ITS UPS AND DOWNS JUST GO TO www.vonage.com AND DO THE RESEARCH
