You want to chill out the people who are replying and being spiteful, you can have your opinion but if I want a cross breed mutt I will buy one and by a reputable breeder I mean somebody who behaves responsible and treats the animals with kindness and decency and not in a inhumane way. I have had two full bred pedegree labradours and both were crippled by inbreeding and guess what they had certificates from the Kennel club. So as I have already said if I want mutts I will buy them. The problem with this country is that there are to many goody two shoes sticking there nose in where it is not wanted and it is certainly not wanted here. Unless you can offer any poitive information regarding the question I posted Keep your opinion to youself

As far as I am aware LABRADOODLES were originally bred deliberately (by some very kind and knowledgeable breeder) to be trained as guide dogs for the blind and specifically for those people with allergy's to usual dog coats, Labradors as they are renowned as guide dogs and Poodles for the coat. All dogs are a cross breed of some kind originally as not many of them look like their majestic ancestor the wolf, so who knows, may be Labradoodle's will be a registered breed one day.
Hope you find what you are looking for.

It is true that registered poodle breeders would never let their poodles breed with a labrador, and registered labrador breeders would never let their labs breed with a poodle. In fact, they could loose their breeders license for doing it. So, I would look very closely at any labradoodle breeder to make sure that they are not a puppy mill, that their parents have been checked for overall health including genetic defects, etc. Also, keep in mind the labradoodle doesn't breed true. This means that the puppies who are the product of two labradoodles, are not likely to have the same characteristics as the parents. Only 2 out of every 10 labradoodle pups is actually "non-allergenic", and they grow up to look many different ways. Also, not all labradoodle pups are actually 50% lab and 50% poodle. Many are also part golden retriever or another breed, and many future generations end up more of one type of dog than the other. Therefore, you are just as likely if not more to get a great labradoodle from the shelter, who was an accidental pup or a rescue, as you are to get one from a breeder. I'd go to http://www.petfinder.com and look up the lab pups and poodle pups in your area (they list the pups by only one breed), and see if you can find a lab/poodle cross that you like.

If your purebreds were crippled then odds are you didn't get them from a responsible breeder..one who does health testing before breeding and guarantees that all pups they produce will be free from genetic/inherited issues. Having registration papers means nothing if there isn't a responsible breeder behind them that breeds health, good quality dogs.

As for Labradoodles..as you already know they are nothing more then mixes/mutts. They are prone to hip dysplasia, eye problems, etc just as the breeds they are mixed. There really isn't a responsible breeder who breeds mixes..if they were responsible they wouldn't be delibrately breeding mixes, giving them cutsey names and selling them for outrageous prices.
People who breed these mixes do so souly for the money despite all claims to the contrary..it is a way to take advantage of the unsuspecting public and get them to buy.It is sad to see these mixes bred when there are thousands of Poodle mixes and Lab mixes in shelters all over the coutry..so many are euthanised for lack of enough homes, temeprament issues and health issues. Instead of lining the pockets of a "mutt" breeder why not seek out a Poodle or Lab mix that needs to be adopted?

Despite "claims" that these dogs were/are bred as Low shedding dogs for guide dogs it is a silly claim..#1 you can't breed a high shedding dog & a low shedding dog (yes despite claims Poodles do shed a certain amount) and get a low shedding dog # 2 there are already well established recognized breeds out there who have the traits of both dogs incluidng low shed hair and low dander..Portugese Water Dog, Irish Water Spaniel, Pudel Pointer just to name a few #3 it is simply just an excuse used to justify breeding mixes.

Labradoodles also can't be registered with any legit registry.The only registries that recognize them are the scam registries taht are set up by mills & byb in order to promote irresponsible breeders & breeding.

Hi, there are loads of adverts for Labradoodles on the ePupz site:
http://www.epupz.co.uk/search/puppies_for_sale.asp?breed=Labradoodle&area=all&st=1&Submit=Search+++

As for reputable ... well I don't know but some of the writeups accompanying the puppy details seem to be written by responsible, caring people ... but when you contact them, you'll be able to make up your own mind.

You'll need to become a member of ePupz to sign in & see the contact details - but it's free & does give you the option to sign up to receive an email when a new ad, matching your criteria, is placed. You can also search ePupz by area - as well as by dog or puppy, breeder & rescue info.

I also had a quick look at the Labradoodle breeders who are on the site - some of them have dogs registered with the Kennel Club or with the Labradoodle Association.
http://www.epupz.co.uk/search/puppies_for_sale.asp?breed=Labradoodle&area=all&st=5&Submit=Search+++

As for the colour mix ... I've noticed one advert selling chocolate & white puppies & another offering black & cream ... it might mean that you have to go to two separate places to get your chocolate & cream mix that you want.

Good luck

hi, i was also looking for a labradoodle but I think I have changed my mind and would prefer a poodle instead having seen them at Discover Dogs exhibition in Earls Court last week. A good website for dogs is epupz. Have listed it below.

Believe whatever you want, but you will not be buying a pup from a reputable breeder if you buy a labradoodle. Reputable breeders do NOT breed mutts! It is fine if that is what kind of dog you want, just don't pay big bucks for one. They are not worth more than $50.

for me it depends in the girl. Like I might see a girl with black hair and also think she is totally hot yet see a girl with blond tresses that is meh and vice versa.

It's a rare animal shelter that does not have several lab mixes looking for a home. Why don't you try there or on Petfinders.com, there's probably a rescue in your area that has lab mixes.

Labradoodles are not mutts as described and they do exist, orignally bred as guide dogs (the labrador part) that don't drop their hair (the poodle part), often they look like labs with a perm!

Reputable dealers I don't know about, but they must be out there. Just be wary that they have all the traights of a lab so as a puppy will need constant entertainment or they will chew everything!
