I imagin that it works for some women but definatly not for me.
I had constant issues while on it. Serious weight gain, my acne got worse, mood swings, gross feeling, I was always spotting like my period never went away.

There are quite a few different kinds of birth control pills out there, Im sure that you can find one that helps your acne.
I was taking the depo shot because it was convienent, one shot every 3 months ..its was the easiest thing after I had my daughter.

Just about any birth control will help with acne, it may not get rid of it completely. However, a lot of the side effects I've researched are very bad. If you want to have children, read up on depo-provera. Many women, not all of course, have had a very difficult time conceiving after stopping the shot. Some took up to 4-5 years to conceive. I would recommend a birth control pill, patch or ring that doesn't alter your normal cycle. Any of those methods should help with acne as well. Best of luck!

I don't know, I never heard that. But I wouldn't recommend depo to anyone! I had nothing but problems; continual spotting, weight gain, mood swings as the shot wore off. One girl I knew got pregnant with twins while on it. Everyone I knew that used it gained weight. On average 10# per shot. I think there are better acne treatments than depo out there.

I think the side effects of every birth control are specific to each woman. For me, Depo Provera completed cleared up my cystic acne in two weeks. I don't experience mood swings and I actually lost weight when I was on it. I think it's just a matter of trying different birth control methods until you find that one that is just right for you.

Can depo-provera really clear up acne?

Depo is dangerous, it caused me to have major mood swings. Also weight gain, and I bled for a month straight.

If you want to get rid of acne then go to a dermotologist.

While it took little less than two months for me to really see a difference, my acne, blackheads and whole lot of other skin problems I had such as eczema had completely cleared! It was totally amazing...

It cleared up mine but you have to remember that it all depends on your genes as well and how your mother's skin was! Go on it though if you are sexually active and that way you will kill 2 birds with one stone :)
