It's great! Let her sleep as long as she will. I am convinced, especially when I read through other questions posted on this site, that too many babies and young children are sleep deprived. Not on purpose, but just because so many parents don't realize how much sleep infants and young children really need. I have a day care in my home, all 4 of the kiddos are napping at the moment, and I deal with overtired kids on a daily basis. A baby your daughter's age should be sleeping around 16 hours in a 24 hour period. A maximum of 2 hours awake at time, an early bedtime (7pm), and long restorative naps (2 hours is best) are key for her right now. I say 2 hour naps, but I have a young infant in my care right now that will sleep up to 4 hours at a time, so just keep that in mind as well. Also, most babies I have kept can not make it to the 2 hours awake mark, most are ready for another nap after 1 hour to an hour and a half of being awake. Anyway, long story short, let her sleep. It's just as important as food at this age, and her brain will wake her, not her stomach. Take care and enjoy your sweet baby. They grow up so fast.

I wouldn't worry about her sleeping for only 2 hours . Every baby is different . My son only slept for a hour and then was up . That drove me nuts . He did that for eight or nine months . Then after that he decided to sleep all day long and be up at night . But then I had my daughter . She on the other hand slept for four hours then wanted to be fed and changed . Took naps . Started to sleep all night at two months . Don't worry . When I had my son I was a first time Mom and I use to watch him sleep to make sure he was breathing . Now he has two sons of his own . He did OK . So did my girl . Your baby will be just fine . Your a good Mom . Good Luck .

Be grateful! My second daughter never slept. I am a mom of 3 girls.. 11yrs. 8yrs. and 11 months. Enjoy the quiet time. It is normal as a baby grows for schedules to change. As she gets older her naps will be longer and less frequent. The more she eats will also effect her sleeping patterns. If she is a good eater then she should be a good sleeper. Relax and try to do something for yourself! Congrats and good luck

Not a thing is wrong. Every baby has their own needs. When she is hunger she let you know. 7 wks. you have a very content baby, she is getting what she needs. You are so blessed. But a week or so from now she will change count on that. More alert & staying awake for longer periods. They change so fast. They are amazing little people. Enjoy.

She may just be very tired... my daughter used to take some short naps and some long ones... she is 7 momnths old now and still doesn't nap consistently as far as length of time. Some days she will take two really long naps, some days she will take 5 or 6 short ones. Just depends on her...

Yes, dont worry, it is fine, i remember when my daughter slept for 5 hours straight when she was a month old and I was panicking, I checked her breathing, I was afraind my breast milk would go bad etc.. when really I should have put my feet up or napped myself. Your baby is just tired....relax. I was a real worry wart with my first baby but with my second I have calmed down (a bit).

thats fine. she will wake when she is hungary. If you are nursing, and need to feed then it is ok to wake her. But she is not going to starve to death or anything. Babys sleep and eat due to what there body needs, things willchange all the time due to growth spurts.

Yes, it's perfectly fine. When your baby is hungry trust me she will let you know...baby's also need lots of sleep. That's when they grow, I say let your baby sleep as long as she wants, try to sleep when she does too. It's ok she will wake up when she's hungry or needs to be changed...baby's have ways of letting you know things.
