I can't find many friends that I want to keep or men that I want to be with. I'm so lonely though. I have a pretty poor self image and I think that is because none of the people I like ever chose me back. What can I do about this? I've tried perfecting my clothes, talking about more interesting subjects. Learning skills and hobbies necessary to other people and that I find rewarding. What else is there? I don't feel I'm unnatractie either.

You need to work on the inner you!!! You need to work on self confidence, self esteem. Once you feel you are the best person you can be on the inside it will seep to the outside and everyone will take notice!!! Don't ever try to better yourself for others do it all for you! And you are right to be picky...your Mr Right will come and it will take time...

Wow, maybe if you stop trying to learn skills and hobbies that other people like and wearing perfect clothes you'll be more yourself. Maybe then you will be more appealing as both a friend and girlfriend. People like other people for the long term because of who they are not because they can temporarily impress them.

I think you are trying too hard. Let your true self come out and Im sure things will work out. You want new friends to see the real you anyway.

Try learning to like yourself first, if you don't like yourself it's a hard sell for others to like you.
Liking yourself comes from withing not from buying new clothes, etc.....

be yourself, the right man/person will respect that and find you interesting for who you are....not cuz the way you dress or learning new skills like numb-chuck skills!

don't do things to impress ppl. just try to be yourself and someone will come along, if not, then try ebay.
