It seems to be removing all my music, ive done a system restore but it dosnt make any difference

It is not the computer that is messing up, the user has to do it.

Try unistalling the program...

Do you have the latest Windows Media Player? If not download it here http://www.microsoft.com.

Just get iTunes, or as said, get a Mac!

reinstall it with media player 10 as it seems to be more stable than 11

You don't mention the version, but delete it and go to Microsoft and download another version. Run a spy scan also it could be spy ware!
