Some people are naturally gifted when it comes to writing skills and others have to work at it. You are probably really good in other areas, but even if you are terrible at writing you can improve your skills.
The previous poster gave a good suggestion - read lots of the kind of material you are expected to write and you will begin to get ideas about how to improve.
Another is to practice, practice, practice. Start keeping a journal and that may help. Write letters and e-mails. Write as much as you can.
You didn't say how old you are or which kind of writing you mean. Different kinds of writing require different strategies. Good writing skills are essential to school success, but it takes time and practice to develop them. Can you ask your teachers for a few suggestions? Someone who knows you better may be able to point out a couple of crucial areas that would make a big difference.
This exact question has been asked here on YA many times, so do a search here for the same question and you will see how it has been answered in the past and you should get more ideas.
Don't overwhelm yourself by trying to correct everything at once. Start with a few strategies and try to use them and then try a few more.
Here are a few sites that may be very helpful to you. Best of luck with it.

Analyze what your problem is by talking to your teacher. Is it grammar? Sentence structure? Organization? Imagination?
The first three are definitely repairable. The last . . . maybe not.
If it's grammar, run grammar check. Some of their recommendations are stylistically unimaginative, but the advice will help you learn. It can also help with sentence structure.
If it's organization, I live by outlines. Mine come in my head, but you may have to create an outline before you start writing. At the least, try to outline what you have written and make sure that topics and paragraphs are in parallel.
My suggestion would also be to get a tutor. Anyone who writes well will do. Get a very tough skin on and have them brutally critique what you've done. And have them tell you how and why to fix it.
Some folks are verbal and some are not. But you can learn to manage English papers like a mathematical problem by using tools like outlines to learn where to go next.
Good luck!

Writing is just not everyones thing. If you don't read alot for recreation, try picking up a book now and then. Pick subjects to write about that you are comfortable with and are passionate about. Check out these two books: Reason to Write by Douglas B. Reeves PhD and On Writing Well by William Zinsser. Hang in there, and don't be afraid to ask your teacher for help also. No teacher is going to give you a hard time if you are really having problems.

It would probably be helpful if you get some help with your writing. First, get multiple readers. It is amazing how someone can spot what you can't. If they are having trouble understanding or seeing the point that you are trying to make, it is a good idea to go back to the drawing board. Or, I am sure that your school has a place where students can go to get help with their writing. It may be just be a few simple things that you need to do differently.

If you're having problems with essays, just follow the rule of three. Pick 3 points to discuss. Then organize it into three parts: introduction, discussion, and conclusion.
If your problems are grammatical, a really helpful tool is "Rules For Writers". Grammar check is sometimes incorrect, so allow it to identify problems, then you create the solutions using the book.

To be a better writer, you need a good imagination, which can be acquired by being a voracious reader.
