I have never seen a freeze plug on a water pump. Freeze plugs are designed weak points in the cooling circuit on the engine block and the cylinder head. Essentially they are cast holes with a relatively weak plug in them that is designed to fail if your coolant freezes. Instead of the ice expanding to crack your block or your cylinder head, the pressure pushes out the freeze plugs.
Now I have seen, on rare cases, that people have let their antifreeze remain in so long that the corrosion inhibitor has fails and the seal around the freeze plugs on the block or head has actually failed due to corrosion and produced a leak. Sometimes, but not always, that can be addressed with barsleak or a similar product for sealing a radiator--with of course the usual caveats that you may clog up your heater cores unless you either disconnect them and plug the hoses or can turn off the valve to them.
On the other hand, if you are certain that it is your waterpump that is leaking--that is you can see coolant coming out of a small hole located usually below the impellor shaft--then the bearing seals in the water pump have failed. These seals prevent coolant from pushing its way up the water pump shaft into the bearings and of course contaminating and washing away the lubricant in the sealed bearings causing the pump to seize. Mnay manufacturers put a drain hole in the pump to allow the coolant to leak out to signal that the waterpump seals have failed before the pump seizes. Accordingly, if it leaks it is time to replace the pump.

best laugh I've had all day. Bad water pump my friend. How cheap could you be? If you are that cheap take the thing off and replace the bearing and seal and put it back on. That's all a rebuilt water pump (not pumk) is.

Never heard of one. If it's leaking then it's worn out.
