My 69 Mach1 351 C was an automatic.I put a T-5 manual in it.Go to Bruce Contours "Modern Driveline.com".They have everything you need.Including a clutch cable conversion kit.(no need for the linkages)You can use a 5.0 bell housing and you will need a 157 tooth flywheel.By the way,Ford calls the 351c a mid-block.The motor mounts and the trans mount are like a small block351w or302.But the heads are in the 390 or 460 family. The Cleveland was the best of both worlds.Big block torque with small block high revs.

A good place to start looking would be at Summit Racing. Of course another route to go would be to pick up a Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine, they are usually packed with all sorts of parts vendors. If your going to put a manual transmission in you will need to get a manual transmission flywheel. Ford made 3 different types of 351's...the 351W or windsor is the only small block. your 351C or Cleveland and the 351M or modified are both big blocks. hope this helps good luck!

The 351C is a SMALL BLOCK. Ever hear of a Boss 302? It was a 302 with 351C heads, and special intake to fit the engine. The 351C uses windsor motor mounts, windsor bolt pattern on the transmission and flywheel. If there is any concern of the manual flywheel replacing the automatic, it would be the center hole in the flywheel fitting over the back hub on the crankshaft. As far as "one stop shopping" is concerned, that will be a snowball's chance in.....! You are going to have to find a donor car such as a Granada, or a Maverick, or a Falcon that has manual transmission. You can get the clutch and brake pedals as well as the bellcrank off that car. Chances are, though, these are going to be 3 speed cars if you find one. So you will have to come up with the hog's head (bellhousing) for a small block, as well as the flywheel and transmission, assuming that you don't already have those parts on hand. And let's not forget the pilot bushing for the hole in the crankshaft. If the crankshaft is only set up for automatic, and never had a pilot bushing put in for the front shaft of the manual transmission to go in, you will have to install one of these as well. So you will have to go to your favorite O'Reilly store for one of those.

The 351C uses a smallblock bellhousing, But first,Why do you want to go through the hassle of converting to a M/T. Not only will it take a ton of parts (trans, clutch assembly, shifter, linkage, flywheel, etc.)that you will have to locate & install, but it will devalue your Mustang. It would be easier to install a AOD trans if you are looking for better drivability. So unless you are building strictly a race car, stick with the auto.

Try www.car-part.com they are a network of hundreds of salvage yards extending up into Canada and have all their inventory on line. You simply pick the year and make and then the part you want and lists them by area or price and the condition is often listed as well.
