US talks about going after the countries that could be direct threat to us because of the nuclear weapons but has any one thought that USA might be direct threat to other countries with the great nuk plants we have right here ? And that they might just one day attack us the way we did to Iraq and Afghanistan?

I think the USA is a threat to itself sometimes, you never quite know what goes on behind the scenes and also there are stereotypes who think being Gung Ho is great. But just look at Viet Nam where the troops where forced to get out. I so think America could stay out of it but when its countries like Iran and North Korea where there are dictatorships you have to and i think the US works close with allies such as the UK. But maybe The US and UK react gung ho sometimes especially the US. I certainly think the UK decides too quick and they seem to just send troops everywhere. Although The UK army is the best trained and person for person the best it doesn't matter if a bomb drops by you same for any army. I think right now IRAN is the biggest threat and i think the Israeli's will Nuke them very soon. Its possible.

Just too add, the countries that have nuclear power, are the UK who are your allies and are going to always be at your disposal anyway. Europeans will have Nuclear power and they will also be at your disposal. The Russians could potentially be a future threat and it would be hard to know what Russia is up too. I mean for all we know Russia might have UFO's. The threats are IRAN and North Korea and possibly some others countries around there. America has a lot of power, NUclear power and the countries who would become involved also ave nuclear power although what it would take to use it, i don't know. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Oooh, I am watching season 4 of 24 and, isn't it a coincidence, that is exactly the plot (the doomsday scenario of attacks on American nuclear power plants). However, the attackers are the same old generic middle eastern terrorists. Relax, I am sure that at the end of season 4, the USA will prevail, especially using the torture methods that are liberally sprinkled throughout 24....(and elsewhere). Oh yeah, Season 4 is over. I guess the US survived.

But, now that you mention it, a few of us other nations, might be concerned about megalomania in the U.S. and develop a few secret pacts just in case they get carried away with their own grandeur and self-righteousness.

The US is not your enemy. If you look at the direction we are going - ex. the economy is rolling, we cut the deficit in half - you might understand that there is more to the world than your outlook. Do you understand how the economy is a part of my next statement?

We are a stable country. We have a wealth of intel from within and shared with other countries.

Islamofascists are attacking us. We protect ourselves so well, you don't even know we are at war, or why war happens.

For the US, conflict is not about Americans harming people. That is simplistic. The slogans you use are about politics and power.

It is about formulating and carrying out strategies to finish the conflict as soon as possible. Think of chess. Other countries are a part of this very complex ideological clash.

First of all, we are not about to use nuclear force on other countries. We know too well that if we were to nuke some other country, the possibility of total destruction and extinction of the human race would be a nearly unavoidable eventuality. Secondly, we are signatories of the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty, which means we are in the business of not using or producing or allowing other countries to produce these weapons.

Also, the only other country on Earth that could sustain an invasion on American soil would be the Chinese, but they won't do that because their economy is directly and indirectly tied to ours. Thus if our economy crashes due to invasion and fighting a war here at home, then their economy goes down too, mainly because we buy most of the goods they produce and I believe it would be safe to say that if we were fighting a war with them, we would no longer buy their goods.

With your broken English, you don't sound like an American by the way. So I'm assuming you think that America is bad and you're asking a rhetorical question to assert your views of us. But I'll humor you by answering your question anyway.

The U.S. was the first country to develop the nuclear bomb. It was also the first and only country to use the nuclear bomb in war. The use of the nuclear bomb taught us and most of the rest of the world the dangers of using it. It has not been used by the U.S. or any other country since that time.

So why would you think, all of a sudden, after 61 years of not using it, that the U.S. would start attacking other countries with its nuclear weapons? We are not the threat.

The REAL threat is a country that has unleashed its state-sponsored terrorists around the world for years, has voiced its commitment to the destruction of everybody who is not like them, and now has decided it wants nuclear weapons to "protect" itself.

Any other country. But it's mostly an undirect threat by selling weapons, destabilizing entire regions, corrupting poor countries or support dangerous dictatorships

We are not a threat to any country that is not a threat to others.

In fact we are the country other nations turn to when they feel threatened.

Of course the next time Europe feels threatened they can go jump in a lake.

You are an IDIOT. In the case of Afganistan we were simply going after terrorist ( the war on terror) in the case of Iraq we warned them to follow the direction of the U.N. when they did not after numerous warnings that is when we attacked. After 9-11 we should consider any country that looks at us wrong, threatens us or does not show us there hand when asked, our enemy. After that day the game changed and the government owes us never to be caught with our pants down again. We should destroy any country, person, persons or religous freaks before they attack us again.

The only reason anyone should fear the US is if they threaten us first. Then we have to defend ourselves and our freedoms, otherwise we help other countries more than anyone else when they are in need. We are helping Iraq become a democracy so it will not be taken over by terrorists...AlQueda. We are building schools, homes and protecting the local people. If we leave, they will be in bed with Iran and the terrorists will have nukes. Think about the consequences then!

The biggest threat is if we stop funding foreign aid and the UN. Oh yeah and stop all food shipments outside the USA. I for one would like to see it happen so we can decrease the surplus world population.
