Not all the people who claim to be Christian really are. They may even seem like they follow every word God spoke, but given time, they will eventually show that they are not. Not all those that profess to be a Christian, really are. Christians know this, the Bible tells us we will "know them by their fruits".

If all non believers are so open minded and accepting, why cant you see that some so called Christians, just give the real Christians a bad name, and stop lumping all of us into one boat? Or do they prefer to be "close minded" and not accept us as individuals?

I guess I should re-phrase that, with some non-believers, not all.

hmmm...you seem to have lumped all non believers together here. I've seen you on here before and you always seem to be one of the nice Christians as far as I can see, so I will assume that was an oversight. I for one accept people on an individual basis. If you will notice in my answers if I'm referring to Christians I will state that I know some that are quite wonderful. There is good in bad in every group. I agree some Christians do try really hard to be "Christ like" and those are the ones I end up friends with it seems! Best wishes!

Not all non believers are open minded and accepting, but that does not mean that none of them are. Same with christians...you can't judge the whole lot based on one or a few.

However some non-believers have only been exposed to the mean christians, those who give the bad name that you are talking about. Those bad influences can spoil a perspective.

There are some of us who believe that the entirety of christendom, when measured by virtue of its accomplishments, can only produce a net loss to humanity. Christianity as a whole should be condemned not only for those evils committed by the church as a whole, but for distracting individuals from more productive social goals. Christianity is like a viral parasite in the minds of man- contagious perhaps but destined to consume far more than it ever could produce.

I accept that you are an individual. I also abhor your adherence to a system of belief that is singularly responsible for causing the dark ages. The world would benefit greatly by the elimination of the entire line of Abrahamic Religion.

Who gets to judge whether or not a person can be a "Real Christian" ? People are not perfect. So if a person believes that Jesus died for their sins upon the cross and still they make mistakes, that is just life. No one has the right to call them "Fake Christians" That's ridiculous. They are Christians that may not meet your standards but I think in the end we'll all find out how judging your brothers and sisters is viewed. I would love to meet a perfect person of any religious or non religious background. There are no perfect people.

I don't know. I get lumped into the "non-Christian" category, and as a result have had some pretty awful things hurled at me--simply for not being a Christian, not for having said or done anything. I prefer people as individuals. I've known some great Christians and some great non-Christians, and I've known truly horrible examples of both as well. That's why a lot of things don't add up with Christianity for me, I guess...if it's supposed to change you, why are there still people who are horrible saying they're Christians--and for that matter, trying to convert people?

I guess we all get lumped in the same boat because we're all going to hell. makes more sense for you guys to lump us than the other way around, really.

Conservative Christians are in the minority but if they're tolerated they will soon spread their influence into politics, education and law. Making distinctions between good and bad Christians isn't an option-the whole Christian religion has to be undermined until it is reduced to what it should be-a system of religious worship that doesn't pose any threat to democracy or freedom of expression. We've managed it in Europe now it's time for the US to follow suit.

So, you're saying works ARE important?

I thought God realized people aren't perfect like he is. I thought even those who sin can follow the religion and be saved. Hmmm.....

Also, all Christians believe in God, which is ridiculous, so, ALL Christians give Christians a bad name.

Well said, however the Good Christians have been silent for too long and let the radical few give us a bad name. We have sat by and let religion be stripped out of society by and large by going along with PC standards. It is all well and good to say someone has a right to religious choice, be it to have a religion or not. Is entirely different to allow the ones who are offended by religion to slowly and systematically erase our rights to openly speak about our religion or show any sort of praise and worship in public places other than church. We agreed to let it slide when prayer was removed from school by not raising more of a fuss to maintain our right to have 30 seconds of respect for our own beliefs. Would it be so terrible to ask the atheist, hindu, jew, pagan, wiccan, satanist to simply shut us out for a few seconds or to take those same seconds to say thanks to the deity/deities they follow. Why should our Christian children not have a right to 30 seconds of silent prayer? Who would it hurt? But if you disagree with a teenage homosexual support group being formed in your child's school they are supposed to simply be told to be tolerant and deal with it, even though it goes against the word of God. Respect is a two way street and I am all for respecting anyone who is willing to respect me as well.

Well said. I've even been reported for my Christian beliefs.
I wouldn't lump all non believers together though. I would say some.

I think the 2nd answer sums it up, Only God shall
be the one to judge us & see who is/was a true
Christian, but yes we should TRY our best to set
a good example when around others.
