Shepherd's Pie

Brown ground beef and add sauteed onions (about a pound and a half and a med onion). Add veggies you like. I usually add cooked carrots, corn, and peas (about a cup each). Mix some beef broth with flour and add to mixture in skillet (about tablespoon flour per cup broth). Reduce until thickens a little. Then put it in a casserole dish and top with a layer of mashed potatoes. Put in 450 degree oven for about 25 minutes until potatoes start to brown a bit. My husband likes cheese on top until it is melted and golden brown, but I prefer it without.

Sheppard's pie!

Like a loose beef stew covered with a thick layer of mashed potatoes and baked in the oven with a sprinkle of shredded sharp cheddar on top until golden and brown!

Yummy!

Try that article for tips on Meatloaf! A great basic dish that also succeeds as leftovers. You can even make it with ground turkey for a different flavor.
