Hi, I'm a college student, and I really need help with preparing easy, fast, and tasty meals. I just left the "nest" and I'm basically struggling to be indpendent, I can't even cook a decent meal without calling mom! (How embarrassing!) Anyway, do any of you people know any easy recipes that a person without cooking experiencing can use? Thanks! (I've searched the internet, but those recipes are made for "food savvy people"

I hope you can boil or fry an egg? OK step one is learning how to boil an egg or fry one. After that salad. Buy the veggies you like cut them small add oil and vinegar and salt. Always put less (oil, salt, vinegar, sugar) so you can add as you never can take it out once you put too much. You can take some bread slices and put them into a plate where you scrambled an egg, fry the bread with egg and put sugar on it, tastes nice. If you want to make an easy and filling soup, buy some potatoes, carrots, onions, actually any vegetable you like put it all into a big pot
boil till the potatoes and carrots are soft add salt and pepper (a little first as as you taste. This is the first lesson :)

I think you should just make spaghetti. It is easy and almost everyone loves spaghetti, esp. 3 year olds. Get a box of spaghetti 1 jar pasta sauce (choose one from the sauce aisle) 1 can tomatoes 1 lb. ground beef In a skillet, brown the ground beef on medium heat (5-6) by breaking it up and moving it around in the pan. Half way through the cooking process, add in about 1/2 a coffee cup of water and let simmer until the beef is fully brown. Put 1 jar sauce, 1 can tomatoes in a sauce pot. Put on medium heat and stir. If you have garlic, put some chopped garlic in (about a spoonful), and if you have dried herbs, put some basi and oregano in. 1/2 spoonful of each. Also, add in 1 light spoonful of white sugar. Stir and let heat. Drain the beef and add all of the beef to the sauce and put on medium heat (about 4-5). Boil the pasta. Heat a pot of water on high heat until boiling. Add the pasta in, put a dash of salt in, and stir up the noodles. Let cook about 10 mins, stirring occasionally. Taste one to see if they are done. When done, drain it. You can also make garlic bread (get some from the freezer section) and salad (get salad ingredients from the veggie section). Have fun being a stay at home dad!

Get a basic cookbook, like semi-homemade by Sandra Lee, or a betty crocker one. Cooking isn't hard to learn, just follow directions.

Look at the 'recipe file' on this website called 'Cooking for Engineers'. They lay out the steps for people who are very 'logical'. There's also Visual Recipes, which does the same sort of thing.

Well it depends on what kinda food you like. You can never go wrong with spaghetti. Boil them, cook the sauce (in the jar) maybe add some sausages or whatever into it, and walah, you have your meal. Hahahahahahah. Or instant noodles. Or instant mac and cheese. lol

Go to the supermarket, and find some of the Boxed dinners they offer. Follow the directions. Some of them can be pretty tasty.
