Well, actually it's not 'your' vehicle. At the point the repo truck starts looking they have paperwork that shows you are in default, that the owner is the bank, and that the repo truck is a representative of the bank acting on their behalf. Sometime you can even pay off the loan to the driver of the repo rig and they will release it right then and give you a receipt.
Can they take it from your garage? Well, sometimes. If the garage is not locked and they didn't have to cut a lock. they are probably legal getting it. If it's in your yard behind a gate they can also get it unless the gate is padlocked. But the law in your state or area may differ.
Of course if you had made your payment in a timely manner, and/or communicated with the lender to make some arrangement regarding the car, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

The general US rule is he can enter upon your property without your consent to remove the vehicle so long as he doesn't break in or open a closed or locked gate or door. If someone with authority is present & orders him off the property he must leave. If the vehicle is kept behind a closed door or gate, the lender will have to file a Court Petition for (depending on local law & procedure) Replevin; or a writ of assistance or some other statutory equivalent.

Driveway, yes, open garage, yes, closed and locked garage, no, that would be break and enter. Unless they have a seizure warrant and are also accompanied by the police or sheriff's department. If your vehicle has a seizure registered against it, you have to give it up at some point in time, the garage is only a temporary hiding place for what is no longer your possession.

They can its been done but what they do is have the police open the garge because a repoman basically has the warent for the vehicle so the police help in that way of getting the vehicle

I believe they can if they don't have to force entry. Maybe someone with real legal advice can assist. This is just what I tought I recalled from having a conversation with a repo man before. Nice guy but don't tell him no.

If you catch him on YOUR property BEFORE he Repos your Car you can Order him off...His only other path then is to either find your car OFF (at work/store/etc) your property or bring a Law Enforcement Officer with him......
