Are there certain areas of the world and certain conditions that can result in people becoming possessed by evil spirits influencing them to commit horrific rape and murder crimes?

First of all, i wish everybody would stop accusing u of planning to commit a crime and thus searching for possible defense argument ......... that's silly!!!!
Yes, there are evil spirits - demon, satan, lucifer, iblis, shaytan ....... call him as u like. His only purpose is to misguide us and confuse us, he lets bad thougths in our heads - thougths which evolve into actual ideas and very often into actual deeds/crimes. BUT, one can not be misguided by satan if he has God in his heart ......... that scares the sh** out of satan - yes, he'll try anway, but he'll run away pretty soon LOL
In islam (which is my religion, by the way) there are also Jinn mentioned - God's creatures living in the same place as we do - earth - but, invisible to our eyes. Just like humans, they have their own free will, and just like humans there are good and bad Jinn (bad one guided by satan just like bad humans are). Now, these bad Jinns serve satan and act in his name - basically, it's witchcraft and making spells over humans ........ anyway, to cut the story short (coz u'll probably call me crazy for believeing in this), Jinns match today's idea of ghost.

Im not one to belive in evil spirits, but i do know that some people do claim to be possessed when they commit horrific crimes. I do believe that their lives were full of sin and to try an make amends, they push of the behavior to something viewed as something one cannot humanly control.
I truly think they do it because they want to do it- a fantasy of sort that some do over and over for self gratification. Some only do it once. Either way it is wrong, but "evil spirits" should neve be a legitimate excuse for crimes.

There are only two spirits in the world.Good and evil .So according to the Bible, anything that is not of God is of the devil...We know that rape and murder are of the devil because God is Good.Now as far as evil spirits that posses people,yes there are certain parts of the world as well as there are here,that harbor evil spirits..If you are not Godly and have a clean soul,these spirits can come into your body.the bible says that when a devil is cast out of a man it roams to and fro seeing who it may consume.now also a person can rape or kill ,but not be posssed with a demon spirit,thay may just be a big sinner.i do feel that people who hear voices that tell them to do evil has a spirit inside them that need to be cast out.I also believe that the mentally ill,not all of them but some of them have a spirit..rember the man at the tombs that was posscessed in the Bible,and Jesus cast out the demon and sent them into a bay of pigs..? There is certain parts of the world that is so far removed from God that do all types of evil deeds,that it would be very easy to pick up an evl spirit if their temple were not clean(temple meaning soul)

Why are you asking us? Were only human too. If we knew, you would also and therefore wouldnt have asked this question :) .... my opinion from what I do know is that, I think people who do stuff like that suffer from mental problems! But then again...the ''mental problems'' could be evil spirits or be caused by evil spirits. Well find out one day if were meant to know. Have a nice day :)

No, people commit that stuff on their own. Goodness and badness both are the responsibility of the person. This is a very real opinion you're getting here, and tell them you actually heard it from a troll.

One of the terms used in referring to the devil is "the adversary." This does not mean he is an adversary of God (as God is omnipotent and cannot be defeated). It means he is an adversary of mankind and sends demons (fallen angels, like himself) to attempt to torment us. Pray in the name of Jesus the Christ and they will have no power over you. They only have as much power as you are willing to give them. God bless.

Well the devil is way moore powerfull you think. He was an angel after all and I have learn reading my bible that it could be possible but it's not valid in a court of law they will classified you as crazy.
