It has found the old firewire card recently installed, but it wont connect to the cam. On the odd occasion it has worked, is this a common problem. What could be wrong? How do i fix it.

The wire is new although cheap. I thought it might be the wire before so i replaced it. I will look for drivers but i am still unsure. The camcorder is a sony hc30-e

Have you tried talking to your local PC supplier? Even though you did not buy it off them they might have the answer you need. You will probably find them most helpful especially if you need some sort of adaption device which they might have in stock and sell to you.

Have you checked on the internet for updated drivers for you cam? Google your cam or the manufactor website to see if there is an update. Otherwise it might be the connecting cord or your cam itself.

pass to My laptop and proper click. decide on cope with . in the left pane of the laptop administration application, click Disk administration . in the decrease suited pane, locate the USB stress and proper click the stress and choose replace stress Letter and Paths . click replace and on the splendid area click the down arrow and choose a stress letter. you will purely settle for open stress letters to make a call from. click ok and specific . Now pass to My laptop or homestead windows Explorer and you're able to see your USB stress with the letter which you assigned it.
