n x 2= X+1=n
example: 1 x 2 = 2+1=3
3x2 = 6+1=7
7 x 2 = 14+1=15

it begins with 2 and add 1 =3. time 2 by 2 and add that to 3=7. times 4 by 2 plus7 =15. times 8 by 2 plus 15 = 31 and so on. just keep multiplying the number by 2 and add the previous number.
