About how long does it normally take to move on from an ex girl friends? We were together on and off for four year and we broke up officially last Saturday. What type of things should I do to keep her off my mind and how long should I wait before I start dating again because right now I don't feel ready to date.

If you don't feel ready to date then don't. When me and my ex broke up about 2 years ago (we've been together for a year) I didn't want to date anyone for a year...and I didn't date anyone. It's up to when you think you are ready to date again. It's different with different people. Some people heal faster than others. But in the mean time you should keep busy. Do things that you like to do. After we broke up, I did a lot of volunteering. That made me feel good because I was helping ones in need and it made me realize that things could be a lot worse than breaking up with a boy/girlfriend. So just find things you like to do and keep your good friends around because they can be a great help as well. Most importantly don't date until you are ready. Don't let your boys pressure you into dating because that could make the your situation worse. Well I hoped that helped.

Do whatever you are into, hang out with your friends, pick up some new hobbies, read a good book, finish a project you had put down, paint your room, learn to play an instrument. You'll start to think about dating again whenever you feel you're ready.... you might end up like me and start dating again only to realize you were not ready after all, that's okay too, all part of the process of moving on. And go ahead and let yourself cry and mope if you need to, it's better to let it out and get it out of your system.

generally its a month for every year, give or take. Do something just for you for now, take an art class or something, keep busy, and just enjoy life. The days will go by and suddnely tou are not thinking about her anymore, and when you do it will be in fond rememberance of good times.

you won't feel ready to date for awhile, you need to heal and have time to get over her before you can move on, you can't open one door without shutting another.. so right now, go out, have fun with your friends, and family.. do things..don't dwell on it.. you will know when you are ready to date again..
