It depends "how" you are burning these calories. Every person has a BMR (basal metabolic rate) which indicates how many calories your body will burn daily. This is also usually the daily recommended calorie intake for the individual. For example, my BMR is 1418 calories, and I burn 425 calories from digestion and processing food. Thus, I am to eat 1418 calories a day to MAINTAIN my weight, my body will not "hold on" to these calories. To lose weight, you must burn more than you consume.

If you are working out and burning 1000 calories, this is a bit on the high side. It also depends on the intensity of the activity, your average heart rate, your diet, and your weight and fitness level! And be careful, what the machines at the gym tell you is usually not accurate (if this is where you are getting the information from) and you should take the calorie values as an estimate. You will usually burn 10-20% less than what the machine displays. Sad, I know :(

I think this really depends on whether you are talking about burning 1000 calories at rest or via exercise. If you consume 2000 calories per day, you need to burn at least that much overall to avoid gaining weight.

no, if you do a cardio workout and with just normal calories burned it would be easy to burn 1000 calories a day. Now trying to burn 1000 extra calories beside what the body normally burns would involve a lot of extra cardio or exercise and you might risk injury.

No, but your metabolism might permanently slow, and you may experience weight gain once you stop exercising that much as to burn those 1000 cals

it really depends on why u are losing that much....per day, on average a person should be eating 3500 cals. but it really depends on ur whole body and its systems. if u are losing 1000cals by wrong procedures(i.e. purging, not eating, less eating than normal daily diet..etc.) then that is bad.. but if u exercise and eat the right foods daily, then it is healthy for u. u have less chances of getting certain types of cancer and becoming very sick with different symptoms. but u need calories and you dont need calories... if u want to lose body fat, do i the right way...there are ppl out there that care about others..even though have never met them...hope i helped!

No, a typical diet should be around 1200 calories a day, so you need to burn most of that off. If you are growing, then you need to burn less than you take in to grow. If you have stopped growing then they need to be about equal otherwise you will continue to grow, but this time around the waist.

You mean 1000 extra? You probably burn that much just existing each day.

Depends on how many calories your taking in. If it does not equal out your metabolism slows down, and then you have to work harder to lose weight (if thats your goal). Also your body uses muscle for fuel source because its more efficient.Your hair can thin, serious medical problems crop up etc..
