I know I don't have OCD... but it sure as hell feels like it. I never felt like going to get an actual diagnosis. LOL.
Before bed, I check the alarm clock about 10 times. I think this started whenever I was almost late for class because the alarm never went off. I remember setting it though. I apparently turned it off in the middle of the night. So now... I have this whole "OCD" with my alarm clock.
EVERYTIME I walk into my kitchen or even BY my kitchen, I have to check to see if the stove and oven are off. I probably do this 10-20 times a day. Same with the front door.
I have to make sure my car doors are locked. I would push the LOCK button on my key like 3 times to make sure it's locked. I swear, I'm thinkin' I'm gonna end up breaking the freakin' lock button. Then whenever I go into the store or wherever it is I'm going, sometimes I have to come back out to check if it's really locked. I would even ask the person I'm with if I locked it.
Yeah. I don't trust myself.. : /

I know there are different types of OCD.
An obsessive compulsive CLEANER, an obsessive compulsive COUNTER, an obsessive compulsive CHECKER.
I would fall into the CHECKER category lol.
I don't have to care if something is unorganized to be OCD.

OHHH!!! And when I was younger... if I turned to the left.... I would HAVE to turn to the right... to "even it out." I don't think I have that anymore though..

Oh Lordy. I forgot to say... when I'm typing notes or something, it has to be perfect. Like if I have a bulleted list and one starts out with a capital letter, then all of the other bullets have to start out with a capital letter too. So it pretty much has to be EVEN.

This too funny for words, but a couple of years ago it could have been me. I went to computer class to learn before I purchased and the first thing I was taught was the plug into the wall , then second is it turned on and third was check for power!!!! C-prompt was a sign that I lost the program and upon occasion I lost it!!! It makes you feel so smart. Try buying the computer professor 80.00 a whack thats what he could have used!!!!

Do you also keep things a certain way and freak out when things are out of place? I don't think you are OCD I think you are just very cautious about your surroundings. There is nothing wrong with that. I, however, AM an OCD person. LOL!

If these habits are bothering you and interfering with your life, then they're a problem, whether or not they are a manifestation of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Seriously, see a psychologist. You can only get better!

You know they make medication for that, now, right? I'd say explore the possibility with your doctor. You don't have to go through this for the rest of your life. Good luck!

I've had similar problems - but my problems primarily revolve around thinking I've caused other people harm.
