YES! The US and Australia are the only 2 developed nations in the world not to ratify it. The US is the biggest polluter in the world, producing over 1/3 of all greenhouse emissoins ALL BY ITSELF! Kyoto does not punish developed nations, it simply holds them accountable for the damage they cause.
Incidentally, almost every European nation has met it's Kyoto goals, and several of them have even surpassed it! The US's refusal to ratify Kyoto shows the world that the US cares about the US and no one else. It also shows the world that the US is incredibly short-sighted. Climate change will turn the midwest into a dustbowl (this has already happened in Africa, which contributes less than 3% of total greenhouse emissions) and the signs are starting to show in North America as well. It's a good thing there are so many obese Americans - in a few decades when crops start failing there will be starvation in the US, and you'll need all that stored fat to survive. The next generation (i.e. your children) will curse the name of the United States when they inherit the ecological catastrophe the US is creating.

that's a politically loaded rfile and not a valid, scientific technique of curtailing or reversing international warming. the international's worst polluters -- China & India -- get a unfastened trip as nicely as handicapping different international places -- mostly the U. S. -- with insane expenses imposed upon its taxpayers and interest-destroying rules. that's genuinely unfair. as an occasion, China makes use of pesticides and different chemical compounds long banned in the U. S. and the acid rain afflicting the U. S. is brought about via those chemical compounds from China! We get caught with the invoice for the sparkling-up of their messes below Kyoto. Kyoto refuses to renowned the end results of overpopulation (e.g. over 10% of on a daily basis CO2 inputs into the ambience are brought about via people exhaling), refuses to renowned long-wave environmental adjustments, and is objectionable on the grounds of technology, economics and finance, fairness and the different obtainable known. Kyoto is likewise out-of-date as yet another contract to supercede Kyoto is being negotiated. So it's time to miss approximately Kyoto.

No because it literally punishes developed countries for being developed. It does nothing to curb so-called greenhouse gases from developing countries. These countries already are emitting more greenhouse gases than developed countries. Secondly the science is iffy. There have been cycles of warm and cold since the earth was created and no one has been able to prove that man has caused any of them or made any of them worse. If you really want to curb greenhouse gases invent a way to stop volcano's from doing their thing. One volcano puts as much dust and debris into the air than all the man made stuff put together and it does this daily. Read to learn and than think. Just because a politician says something is true doesn't mean it is true.
